Historical Traveler Reviews of Radisson Sas Hotel - Brussels
Lovely

I thought that this hotel was fantastic! The rooms were spacious and the hotel lobby had a huge atrium. I was very impressed. The buffet breakfast was fine. One night my boyfriend and I went down to eat in the restaurant in the atrium. We were the only people dining there so we weren't expecting much! Oh my God! It was so delicious! I had prawns and it was a very generous portion of tiger prawns in a heavenly sauce and the service was excellent! I'd go back just for that!!!! Beware of taxi drivers who will try to rip you off!

The SAS radisson lived up to its 4 star billing. Excellent hotel with good sized clean rooms and an unbeleivable atrium as you walk into the hotel. Also liked the piano player who says hello when you arrive. Would and have stayed again recommend weekends for cheap deals
Nice Place, Great Loacation

The location is about as good as it can get - 5 minutes by foot from the Grande Place and Central Station, yet on a fairly quiet street. All the same, ask for a room facing the central courtyard.
The hotel itself is a nice corporate type place, i.e. a bit anonymous, but functional, comfortable and fairly new. The rooms are fairly large and elegantly appointed, the beds a a bit smallish, the shower is nice and powerful.
We didn't care for the buffet style restaurant in the atrium, there are much better places neraby, such as the Taverne in the nearby Galerie Royale.
Small room, small bed

We stayed one night. There is a really fantastic lobby and nice bar but the room was not 5star! There was a very small bed, the floor of the bathroom was not straight. It is a very anonymous hotel. We will not go there again.
Mix of styles

Layout of Reception could be better but three glass elevators and huge Atrium beyond were gorgeous. Fish swimming in water stream near breakfast area. Part of an ancient wall built into the hotel. Royal Club rooms very spacious with complimentary strawberries and biscuits on arrival. Rooms looking into Atrium make a nice change and seem quiet. Jacuzzi and saunas a nice touch. Bar very expensive but dark and atmospheric. Concierge staff excellent and location perfect.
Cheap for 5 Star, but not 5 Star

There are currently great deals on rooms in this Hotel on the web.
Don't be fooled into thinking you hacve a great deal on a 5 star hotel.
It is OK, but many of the rooms have a very 1980's look, they are fairly small, and there are non of the nice touches I expect from a 5 Star hotel. Thick Big Towels, People to take your bags, clean sheets (our's smelt damp), inclusive leisure facilities (only with the expensive rooms), etc.
Location is great though, and the staff are helpful, particularly the local information guys.
Comfortable stay

Would definitely recommend it to others. Good location, comfortable rooms, great breakfast buffet, helpful concierge: Robert.
The concierge recommended us the best pasta place in Brussels:Ricotta and Parmesan. And boy was it good!!! only downside the menu is in french, and the waiters don't speak much else than french, however the food is scrumptious, don't leave without trying out one of their desserts: . 2 minutes walk from hotel.
Stayed here!

Hotel is very nice and excellently located in the heart of Brussels. Rooms were good and service very good - would recommend!
Noise problems - beware
from A TripAdvisor Member
Having just spent a weekend at the Radisson in Brussels there's no doubt that the hotel is stylish and well situated being just walking distance from Central station and the Grand Place and its surrounding restaurants. Our room on the fifth floor was furnished with a Scandinavian theme and overlooked the impressive internal atrium / restaurant area. The only problem was a particularly noisy ground floor disco on the Saturday night which amplified upwards and kept us awake until it ended at 2am despite a call to reception at 1am. Definitely steer clear of the more expensive Royal Club rooms as these occupy the second and third floors and should you get an inward facing room be prepared for a sleepless night. The hotel bar is ridiculously expensive but try Loplop, an unpretentious and friendly bar on the street behind the hotel. It's ideal for a nightcap and also a third the price! Finally a couple of doors up from Loplop is a fantastic Chinese restaurant where we had one of the best meals of our stay. It's unlisted in the guidebooks but definitely reccommended.
Great Hotel

This is a very nice corporate hotel. It has a lot of character and the buffet breakfast is wonderful. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. The location is perfectly located while visiting the Grand Place and the Ilot Sacre.
