We are now inside the Arctic Circle!
Dear all, We made it to our northernmost destination. Tromso boasts of many things that are the "northern most", such as the northern most Lutheran Chruch, northernmost brewery, etc. We have touched base with our glacier hike guides for tomorrow and have freshened up a bit, so we are going to go and head out to take a look at some of the city. Finally... we made it 'till Tromso!
Although I was very excited to visit Tromso, I came a little bit disapointed. I wanted to see the Aurora Borealis, but came empty handed. We knew that it was a long shot, but due to the delay in arrival, we had to postpone a outside the city visit.
The flight was troubled by the strong winds and we tried to land at the Tromso Airport twice …

Where the Sun Never Sets

In the last few days, the clouds have been making up for their fortnight’s holiday and the island, for me at least, is gradually emptying. The strings of goodbyes are a constant reminder of ‘coming to an end’ of something which, in its own way, gives a special sheen to everyday that is left here. I push aside the misplaced feeling of ‘missing it already’ and smile at the thought of having time left to continue enjoying my one, very long, summers ...
