"Nur noch 30 Tage..." oder "Ein Traum wird wahr!"
Ich habe das Gefuehl, es ist noch gar nicht so lange her, seit ich bei meinem netten Reisebuero-Dirk, nach langer Routen- und Terminplanung meinerseits und Guenstigster-Flugrecherche seinerseits, mein Around-The-World-Ticket gebucht habe...doch es war tatsaechlich schon im August 2011! Und damit noch vor unserem 'Hammerexamen', mitten in der Lernzeit und als wir noch Medizinstudenten und keine Aerzte waren! :)

A few fun highlights from this month:
- Thanksgiving - because our oven was kaput, we had to delay our Thanksgiving celebration until early December. Other than a tiny fire in our new oven, everything went great. Although a foreign at first, our German friends seemed to love the spread - stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, two turkeys, green beans, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pies - Brit had to order ...
First impressions
... and filled with everything from dark bread loaves to donut holes. We've been told the first things German's miss when abroad are their hometown bread rolls.
So now we're about halfway through the season and feeling a bit more settled every day. Our oven problem has been sorted (4th one's a charm), just in time for the coldest winter of our lives!

A Land Made for Fairytales
... of time, what I saw was a completely clean, organized, spacious, and green city. I took a free tour and visited as many museums as possible. New Friend in Eimeldingen
We were starting to get a little worried as we approached Eimeldingen. It was now quite late at night and the route our GPS gave us was blocked with road construction. We took a very wide detour and finally found the street where our hostess lives. Our friend at home had put us touch with her sister who lives in Eimeldingen and we planned to stay for three days while we toured the Black Forest region and Alsace. ...
