Wake up, check the news, first things you see are plain crash, train accident, and "no train traffic possible to Shiphol Airport due to fire alarm". Hopefully not too foreboding!
Other than that, it's a nice morning. The problems around Schiphol are seemingly solved (train driver thought the dust from the construction was smoke and sounded the alarm), and it's still 5 hours or so until our plane leaves. Time to get some breakfast.
I'm writing this in the train on my way to Schiphol Airport, about to start a three week journey to Japan and South Korea. The trip is part of a university "study visit" by the mathematics and computer science study ...
And the next morning we were in Schiphol.
I can't really say it was a smooth landing. Usually when you land, you kind of bounce along and then you are almost thrust forward to the front of the plane.
This time there was no bouncing... it was a bonk as if the plane landed on all wheels at the same time. I guess the angle was a bit off while coming ...
