... Anastasia finds our entrance and we pass through the security and find the cloakroom which is the size of our lounge and Roger's kitchen living area. High vaulted ceilings its like stepping back in time. Roger and Prue change into posh clothes I decide not to but hire some opera glasses. People are dressed from the fabulous, full blacktie apparel to jeans and tee shirts. We find the bar, ornate and loely and turn down the verve cliquot and moet at NZ45 ...

... and the clothes we hand washed in the room dried really quickly.
Moscow is a city that has and is going through a lot of change. Long gone are the Soviet era shortages. It's all here baby and I mean ALL - everything from MacDonalds to Gucci to Ferrari. Moscow has more billionaires than anywhere else in the world (according to our Lonely Planet guide). Isn't freedom great.

... so we were all ready by just before 6pm and so we got our stuff together and were about to go down the stairs when the grumpy woman told us that the taxi was stuck behind a road block and so we'd have to walk a little way to Godzilla hostel to get to the taxi. This proved difficult however since police wouldn't let us through to the area where Godzilla hostel was. A random Russian guy however, helped us find a short cut to the other side and thankfully there ...

... a local guide called Anya. If anyone has travelled through Europe you'll know how it goes: the tour is free but you're expected to tip at the end. That's all fine with us. There was about 17 fellow expeditioners on this tour and Anya showed us some beautiful churches, some back streets, told us some stories of the Soviet era, and generally showed us around the downtown area, and Red Square. ... there and he was creating sparks that were flying out over the square.

We ate in the hotel restaurant tonight, we had a weird fatty chicken/pork skewers with ketchup which, to be honest, wasn't very nice...

After dinner we had a quick walk around outside and went into a shop to get some water. Everything was behind a big counter that ran around the whole room, so it was a little difficult to get what we wanted!
