I had never thought of travelling to Zurich only to take part in the Street Parade. But back in 2008 some friends wanted me to go there and I did not regret it. It is a real special parade with many friendly people in a very nice city near the Lake Zurich. The central station was also decorated and used for the party, and during night time the big station hall became one of the largest dancing clubs in the world. I can only tell people to go there and enjoy the great ambiance!<br>

... This is something that I did not enjoy. Yep I will admit it my long range distance shooting is poor. In the afternoon we did some more 9mm pistol shooting. Now holding the pistol and firing feels so natural, I was able to shoot while kneeling, standing up and on the move. I am no longer intimidated by the noise. Just a day trip to see this old city. Lots of brightly painted buildings with ornate oriel windows. Most of the windows were carved with scenes or fancy designs, sometimes painted, sometimes both. Lots of fountains and statues. Found a chocolate shop and pigged out.

With our bags gone and us through security we still had some time to kill so we explored the small terminal before settling down to watch the few arriving and departing flights through the large glass terminal walls. After a while we proceeded through to the international departures area, which was basically one big duty free shop. Our plane (Wideroe Dash 8 Q400) arrived a little late, but this was nothing compared to the delay for KLM passengers, whose plane wouldn't start ...

While looking for the first objective, some friendly old German hypo lady walked up to us, said we would never get a good view of the river from there and told us to follow her... and away Lang went with me in tow watching our backs! After a frantic 10 min speed walk with her talking extremely fast, she pointed at a hill and told us to go up there to a lookout before disappearing. Well there was a lookout there... but there just wasn't ...

... not our fault. Oh how I miss US customer service... We ate pizza at the station in Milan before boarding. We were put in a train car with 3 South Korean girls who spoke some English and a Romanian that only spoke Italian. The Koreans were hilarious...acting lots of questions, being nosy, and annoying the Romanian. They were a lot of fun though for the 4 hour ride...some good entertainment.
