Radisson Plaza-Warwick Hotel Philadelphia
Travel Blogs from Philadelphia
It was great to arrive at a place where we get to stay for a few days. We drove into downtown Philadelphia in the dark and I am lucky I did not kill somebody, at least that I know of. If we had not borrowed Paul and Andrea's GPS we may have ended up in the Atlantic! We have never used valet parking before but it was a welcome service after 12 hours …
We arrived in Philly in time to settle in for a bit. The parking garage was just down the street so that was convenient as well. The inner lobby of the Radisson Plaza was pretty extravagant.Giant, twinkling, chandelier hanging high above some chairs and a table made it look like a living room of sorts. The walls looked to be white marble and made …
Yeah, Bruce was singing in my head as soon as we rolled into town. :) Even though I could've used some more sleep, I couldn't pass up the chance to get out and check out some of Philadelphia. So, I got my stuff up to my hotel room and then went for a run. We were in the business area and not too far from a nice greenway that included some museums. …

The service here was great right from the start! No pool which is no big deal. The location is perfect for exploring downtown on foot. We got a great deal on the room but parking was a ridiculous $34 a day!

The service was great. For our short stay we had no problems. I would stay here again. It is right in the middle of everything.

Historical Traveler Reviews Radisson Plaza-Warwick Hotel Philadelphia
My boyfriend and I decided to visit our hometown of Philadelphia over July 4, 2004 week. We usually stay with relatives, but decided this time to stay at a hotel. We really miss living in Center City Philadelphia and couldn't wait to come back to visit. There are great shops, parks, and amazing history behind every door. That was one of the reasons we decided to stay at the Historical Radisson Warwick. We arrived at the Radisson on June 29, 2004, for a 4-night stay in our native city. Upon arrival we were given a room with 2 double beds although we asked for a king. They said they may have a king available tomorrow and to check back. That afternoon we decided to take a walk around Old City and have lunch. To my surprise, after lunch, my boyfriend proposed to me in my favorite park, Washington Square. Now everything made sense as to why he decided to stay at a hotel for the week instead of at the home of a relative. The following morning, while inquiring about our king size room I excitedly shared this information with the front desk. The engagement apparently did not impress them and I was told they still did not have a king room available. I was not offered any other type of accommodation or discount to make up for the error. Disappointed and determined to have this week be a memorable experience, I walked 1/2 block down to the Rittenhouse Sheridan. I explained the type of service we were receiving at the Warwick and anything they could provide would be helpful. They luckily had a king size room for us with a park view. I went back to the front desk of the Warwick to tell them we were going to cut our 4 night stay to only one night. No questions were asked although I was clearly upset with the king size room situation. They made check out a nightmare. The one gentleman working the front desk told us we had till 5:00 p.m. to check out. I was confused and asked if we would be charged another night for a late check out and he advised we would not. I told this to the Sheridan down the street and they told us absolutely not. He will charge you an extra night if you wait until 5:00 p.m. After hearing this I immediately called down to the front desk of the Warwick and spoke with a different front desk employee. She advised we must check out by noon or we will in fact be charged an additional night. So not only were they rude, but the employees were becoming vengeful to the fact that we were leaving early. The Warwick obviously did not take note that we are Philadelphia natives and we would be back to visit our city at least 3 times a year. This loss of business did not affect their attitude. I have often felt the affects of the Philadelphian attitude while living here for 27 years of my life, but never to this extend and never while I was a customer receiving a service. I recommend the Rittenhouse Sheridan and will be sure to stay there again. Please read my review for that hotel if you are interested.
The City loved me Back!
My husband and I checked in for the Memorial Day weekend also our anniversary. The Plaza was lovely and the room was fantastic especially at the price we paid. Philadelphia was very surprising and yes we did feel "loved back". Clean wonderful Rittenhouse Square : We had fun all over the town at a quaint Irish pub on Walnut Street. Taking the very touristy 90. min trolley tour..riding the train to take in a Philly Game. Hanging out in Rittenhouse Square Park. Eating good food at Oasis Philly on Walnut..Fun fun can't wait to go back on Labor Day weekend..oh and the HOTEL is fantastic..the only complaint was the overly loud amourous noises of next door neighbors.
A welcome respite
I had a very pleasant stay at the Warwick. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The room was a good size, very clean and tastefully if a little blandly decorated. I had a corner room so there was a lot of light and good views of the city. Location was convenient with some good inexpensive food options nearby if you're not up for the fancier restaurants attached to the hotel. I'd be happy to stay at the Warwick again.
I felt like a Princess!
The hotel is very nice, and my room was comfortable and clean. Everyone treated me with courtesy and respect and seemed eager to help me any way they could. The breakfast room service was superb! The hotel was convenient to everything I wanted to see and do. I had a great time and can't wait to go back!
A Great Hotel
Perfect, Perfect, Perfect. This hotel was the one I most remember of all my hotel stays. They did not knock on my door yelling house keeping at the crack of dawn. It was very quiet. The room was very comfortable.
This is one of those hotels where you wait until exactly 12 noon to check out, even if you are in a hurry. You just don't want to leave.
Also, there is a great little movie theater (The Roxy) (reminds you of simpler times) a few blocks away from the hotel. One of Philadelphia's best kept secrets. Not to mention the beautiful area. I can't wait to return to my favorite place. I stayed there July 2003.
Save Your Money
For a better hotel that is. OK location but overpriced and snooty.
Maybe it was just that weekend but the hotel was busy and understaffed.
Not a very comfortable stay.
I stayed here last Dec.(2002) and had a nice room.Happy with my stay, until now open credit card statement and another stay has been posted(6-03) that is in error.Just hold on to receipt's in case.Philly is a great city to explore. Randy
I stayed there last weekend, 4th of July. To my surprise it was packed with students and families-horror. But, I was positively impressed by the hotel; the location is excellent-Rittenhouse Square, nice stores and restaurants-a great area. The staff is attentive, there is a café downstairs, a restaurant and a bar and the decor is attractive.
The room was spacious-tacky furniture though-but with a great bed. I was on the 20th floor so I had a view and could see the fireworks from there. For $84., I could not ask for anything else.
Best Hotel EVER!
'Just returned from our very recent stay at The Warwick, and my companion and I swear we will return! This is the best ever hotel!!The Warwick totally understands SERVICE, and EXCELLENCE!Best: mattresses, water pressure, hot water, large, room bathroom, lots of towels, service, concern, quiet, dignity, and confidentiality, as well as genuine love and concern! This is the best hotel in the whole world!
Friendly, but not quiet
We stayed at the Warwick for two nights. Location is excellent--walk to lots of restaurants and stores. Friendly staff, but the rooms are not sound proof and you can hear everything in the hallway--doors slamming, teenagers running (if they are on your floor). I was glad to sleep in my own bed after that!
