Ah, home!!!
We made it in just a few hours, no problems, no issues, just a quick drop off of Toni and her house and South Minneapolis, then it was home to my own house. Teri helped me unload the 2 weeks of road trip items, suitcases and all the junk.
It was a great road trip, but I am glad to be home!

... All the borders in Central America had been so time consuming and challenging. But here, since we had the American passports, it was easy.

As we drove north we still weren’t sure we were in the US. There had not been a big sign. There had been no indication if we had crossed the border. After a half an hour of driving we were stopped at a checkpoint. A man in fatigues asked us for our passports in English. He saw that mine said I ...

    A great stay!

    from rgrady3

This stay was for my wife's birthday and it couldn't have been better. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. I asked for a fridge and it was sent on up immediately. We got a king room and was more space then I had expected. The Sleep Number beds I think take a little more getting used to and a multiple night stay might have made it easier, but for the one night I couldn't get it to the right number.

Great place in the heart of the City

    from 2blue

First of all, we had a bit of an issue when we arrived. The Hotel's garage was closed and I was not notified when I booked the room just a few weeks before. Fortunately, there was a nearby garage that worked out OK. The staff was helpful in getting us there and explaining the garage's rates.

This leads to the service, which was first-rate across the board other than lack of notification about their garage. We had the most wonderful deserts from room service that delivered promptly and courteously. They included glasses of water, cloth napkins and a fresh flower on the tray. It was a very nice presentation for a room service desert.

The room was roomy and very comfortable. My only complaint was a small one, as the TV was small given the generous room dimensions. We were in a club level room, but I don't think the amenities were worth the extra money. It got us OK breakfast and a few drinks. Next time I would save my money and stay on a regular floor.

Loved our stay at the Radisson Downtown Minneapolis!

    from anonymous

We stayed 2 nights at the end of August, a Friday and Saturday. I knew the location was good, but I was not expecting such a beautiful hotel! Most Radissons I have stayed in are nice, but not as posh as this one. I felt like I was staying in a $200+ per night hotel for $110 per night. The beds are very cozy--lots of soft blankets and pillows. (Don't waste your time on the Sleep Number bed--they're not any better than a regular bed)

Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and helpful. The concierge will help with whatever you need.

The restaurant and bar were very nice, too. We pre-ordered room service on Sat night for Sunday breakfast. It was on time and very tasty.

I would definitely stay here again for the location, service, and the price.

    A great hotel

    from anonymous

we just came back from a four day stay at the radisson in downtown minneapolis. we booked a block of rooms for my sons wedding. we were extremely impressed by the hotel, as were all of our guests. the level of attentiveness both by the person who coordinated the reservations for the wedding block, and the hotel staff during our stay was impressive. many of us stayed on the concierge level, and if you are going as a group, i highly recommend that you do this, because the lounge on the concierge level is a great place to get together. the location of the hotel cannot be beat.....great shopping and restaurants and the light rail is close by. we had lunch in the grill downstairs, and that was good also. We do a lot of travelling....and as of late can be "picky" about hotels.....i highly recommend this hotel!!

    Ok but not great

    from anonymous

I requested a smoke free room, but got one that had

a smoky odor. After a couple of days, I switched, but I could

not the first night because the hotel was booked solid. The

hotel is not exceptional. For instance, the sauna closes at 10:00 PM.

    Nice Hotel

    from BrodieBird

Our room was very quiet and also quite beautiful. It had a very large bathroom with newer decor. The bed was very comfortable with plush linens and comforters. We thougth it odd, however, that in a hotel of this caliber, a mini-refrigerator was not in the room automatically. We requested one and one was provided at no extra cost. Housekeeping was average. The concierge/bellman were polite but could not give us any helpful information on restaurants, directions to common destinations within the city, etc. My husband actually had to go to the Marriott next door for all this information. We had one meal in the Radisson's restaurant and it was very good. Hopefully, they will solve their concierge problem!!

    Great Expectations...Met, and then Some

    from bigmoney

After already being rated 2nd most popular in the Minneapolis area by contibutors to this site, I'm clearly not the first person to rave about his/her experience. Nevertheless, I'll add my voice to the chorus of praise...

Room: Immaculately clean - room itself, bathroom, closets, drawers, etc.; plenty of towels and washcloths, better placed than in other hotels (like towels on a rack in the bath/shower itself); unbelievably comfortable bed and pillows.

Nice, Small Touches: Comfortable robe; (2) free bottles of water, replaced each day; Alarm Clock w/CD Player; shoe shine/buffing cloth.

Restaurant: "Firelake" is excellent...true quality for a in-hotel dining option. Only did breakfast/brunch there Sat. and Sun., but I can vouch for the omlettes and especially for the pancakes (flapjacks with blueberries and 100% pure maple syrup...mmmm). Service was hands-on (without being overly in-your-face), all special requests were accomodated (substitutions and side-orders), water and coffee were refilled quickly, a newspaper was offered, details about airport shuttles and taxis was prompt and accurate, and the price was quite reasonable. Ask for Nick or Katie...both VERY nice.

Parking: Plentiful, with early bird and especially evening specials that are great for visiting guests.

    Overall Price/Value: Excellent

    The Best

    from ErinB_23

Pure Excellence. All of their rooms now have Sleep Number Beds. The decor is beautiful, it is a prime location for everything in downtown Minneapolis (so basically anything worth doing in MN), and the staff is world class. Their front desk guy has to be the sweetest guy I have ever met. I asked where I should go to eat and not only did he make a suggestion, but he called the restaurant (which was NOT in the hotel) and told them I was coming and to treat me good! I have never stayed in a nicer hotel.

    Great Place!

    from anonymous

This is a really nice hotel, great food, great service and wonderful location. The top floors are the best to see the view of the city at night. Very romantic atmosphere here.
