En direction d'Adelaide par The Great Ocean Road

... Ocean Road.

Tiger Airways

... A to point B. No fewer than ten Australians had warned me that Tiger is actual **** when if the plane does depart and I figured they were exaggerating.

As a side note, Aussie domestic travel is an absolute dream since any amount of liquids can go through the checkpoint. Tickets and IDs aren't checked there either and it's about as hassle free as it can get. Airports have separate domestic and international terminals to aid this convenience and of ...

The big decision - 2 kids and a caravan

... as they head to Ayers Rock and Alice Springs. This leg of the trip will take place directly after we leave Port Germein and although it will be a baptism of fire in some ways (1200kms in 3 days), I think it will be an enormous help to have Di and the girls with us while we find our feet in setting up the van without losing either of the kids etc.

So, having worked all that out we now have a solid departure date from ...

A day without Renee & Belinda

... He picked me up at lunch time, we went to Brighton beach for lunch, than went to Big W for buy some blank cds etc & than went to Paulies boat so Jamie could do something with it. I don't know what, but it involved a air compressor. After that we went up to the Adelaide Hills again & went to The Giant Rocking Horse. It was big, we had to pay $2 to climb it, there wasn't much of a view when we got to the top. But at least we can say that we ...

Packing

Well the hardest thing about traveling is packing. You never know how much stuff you need to take. As a rule I usually pack then unpack a number of times so that I have a really good look at what I am taking. So far for this trip I have packed a giant suitcase. I then unpacked that into a small case. I then unpacked the small case into a medium size case. I did these things about 3 times. So now i am left with a medium size suitcase and a larger carry on piece. The second ...

Traveling

... a few stagnant pools of water remaining, where one would only swim on a dare, or if paid a lot of money for the pleasure. Still, it was a nice little site, and I met 'Billy', an aging traveler from England who was driving across Australia to see the sights. My new tent took 3 minutes to set up (instead of 30 for the previous model) and literally involves taking it out of the bag and watching it unfold itself. (Or more accurately, leaping out ...

Adelaide

... job at the Union Hotel which is a pub that serves gourmet food including Kangaroo! The bars and pubs are called hotels because they used to have a law that required the pubs to offer rooms on a second story, the law is no longer in a effect but the pubs are still called hotels. Nick is really enjoying working there and the food is delicious!Nick's birthday was a fun time, we surprised him with a hot pink stretch Hummer limo and rode ...

Cultural walk around Adelaide

... it got a bit stupid!! After the museum, we did a bit of food shopping (Lorna's highlight) and went back to the hostel. The Hostel we are staying at is quite nice actually. People here are pretty good as well. I have already arranged to watch the football at a local bar on Saturday (well Sunday morning actually) with some of them. Premiership games are on here at 10.45pm, 1.30am and 3.45am - should be a good night. Just need to convince Lorna now.

Adelaide

... 2 weeks to be exact!) so easy and really comfortable - cue memories of wine tasting in the Maclaren Valley, sunsets from their deck, steak for dinner and the most comfortable bed...) Adelaide its self is really laid back and although we didn't spent much time in the city we really enjoyed it. We did, however, venture up the coast to Glenelg (and battled against the sodding flies) and sampled the fish n chips, but soon made our way back as, to ...
