Historical Traveler Reviews Radisson Hotel Orlando - Lake Buena Vista

      Excellent Hotel in Great Location

This hotel has recently undergone extensive renovations and it shows. The property is very well designed and the rooms are very comfortable.

My brand new room came with a jacuzzi, LCD television, Sleep Number bed and all the other things needed to make the stay comfortable.

I would highly recommend this hotel to discriminating travelers who expect clean, comfortable and stylish accommodations.

      Nice upgrades

My family stayed here for a weekend trip. We enjoy staying near Downtown Disney so this hotel was a perfect choice. It sits very close to I-4 and 535 so you do occasionally hear road noise and emergency vehicle sirens.

The upgrades that the hotel has done are great. The sleep number beds, the large flat screen tv, and bathroom facilities were top notch. The bathroom is a bit cramped though. We found the refrigerator and microwave to be useful. We didn't take advantage of the hotel bar/restaurant, but we did like that room service was available. We usually stay at places where some sort of breakfast is included in the room rate. But since we were able to book this hotel at $98 plus tax, we enjoyed dining at the surrounding restaurants.

Our one complaint about this hotel is the access to enter/exit. If you are coming from the Downtown Disney area, you must go to the busy intersection at Vineland to make a U-Turn to return to the hotel. This wasn't a big deal, but Orlando traffic can be hectic.

      Brand New

Stayed here for one night and got a good walk-in price on opening week. The property is brand new and has been finished to a high standard. It's very close to Disney and is within walking distance to various eating places (e.g. TGIs, Dennys) so good if you fancy a drink with your meal.

We stayed in a standard king size room which had plenty of space to spread out. It has a cool plasma TV on the wall and a docking station for your iPod (really handy). There's a separate sitting area with a couch and a desk with free internet access (if you bring your laptop). The bed was really comfy as it had controls to adjust the firmness of the mattress. The bathroom was a shower over bath, but the shower was good. The bathroom was a bit cramped but came well stocked and was clean and fresh.

There is a small swimming pool and hut tub which is nicely laid out with comfortable beds and chairs around it. Its right next to the road but the surrounding wall and gates make it child friendly and a relaxing place to sit.

Overall good for a few nights the only downsides were the air conditioning unit in the room and the hotel's proximity to the I-4. Both of these caused some noise annoyances. Still was a nice place to stay.

      Nice Hotel Close to Disney

This hotel is recently remodeled. Everything is very nice. The rooms have the great sleep number beds and very nice linens. The bathrooms have been updated and are very nice. The lobby and hotel exterior are very nicely done. The staff in very nice and accommodating. There is a restaurant on site, there is a concierge (time share) on site (not pushy, very nice) and they have scheduled bus service to Disney. There is every type of restaurant right around the hotel. If you do not have a car you can easily walk to many choices. With a car you are 5 minutes from Downtown Disney. We had two great nights and will definetly stay here again.

      Nice, new Radisson

Radisson outdid themselves with this remodel of an old hotel close to Downtown Disney. Large clean rooms with sitting area, refrigerator, and microwave. The best part is the easy drive to Downtown Disney, although coming back you need to pass the hotel and do a U-turn. Sleep number beds a dream come true. Walking distance to other places to eat. I got a great price but once this place catches on, I don't know how long that will last.

      Nice hotel for the price

We stayed here the 1st weekend of April. Normally we stay at the deluxe or moderates on Disney Property. However, they were booked full. We chose this property over the Country Inn & Suites to try out the sleep number bed.

Arrival at the hotel was speedy and quick. The Entire hotel looks like a 4 star place without the staff. Marble lobby and such. The only initial ding was lack of parking close to the building. Also there is no cross over from the Cross Roads area. If you are on the opposite side of 535 from the hotel, you have to travel 1/4 mile past the hotel to make a U-turn to get to it. This creates an issue coming from Downtown Disney. If coming from Epcot, it is better to get on I-4 and exit at the hotel.

Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Restrauant had good prices, but service was slow as it seemed they had to wait for chicken to lay eggs for an Omlete. Bar area is small, but appropiately sized for the hotel. When we arrived Brits were at the bar and having a good time.

I was able to get wireless in the room, but it was iffy. I did not realize there was a hard connection as mentioned by previous reviewer. Also, by the window, there was a circuit breaker that was 2' off the floor and in easy reach of little ones.

For the price, we would stay here again.

      Enjoyable stay but...

I was in town for a conference and I stayed at the Radisson Lake Buena Vista Orlando for a total of 4 nights. I reserved my room through the hotel's website and I got a room at a pretty reasonable rate. Hey, the rate was not cheap but it was reasonable enough for the Lake Buena Vista area.

This newly remodeled hotel is located within minutes to Downtown Disney and the other Disney attractions. It is located right off Exit 68 on Highway 4 so you can not miss it if you are driving from MCO.

Please bear in mind that this hotel is very good but it is not perfect so you need to know what to expect so you won't be disappointed when you get there.

      1. Free parking and free internet but no wireless in the room so you must bring your cable wire.

      2. There is a rest. located at the hotel. I ate there 4 times because I booked the room with breakfast included. The food was decent and the service was friendly and quick. However, the bar area at the hotel looked a bit boring.

      4. There is free WIFI at the small hotel lobby area but there aren't any workstations available for you to sit down and work. It is a pain if you want to print stuff.

      5. There is a cute swimming pool at the hotel but it was not heated so it was cold. There is a hot tub but it was not working at all (Dare it!). There is a small hotel gym but there is no TV inside the gym. They really should add a tv there. I did not see anyone used the gym.

      6. The best part of this hotel is the room. My hotel room was brand NEW. I liked the # bed. See photos. The couch is also a foldout so you can comfortably fit 3-4 people inside the room. I also liked having a microwave and a fridge. Ok, the air-conditioner was a bit loud for me so I have to turn it off at night so I can sleep.

      7. I give the hotel staff/services an 'A'. The staff at this hotel is well-trained and I get the sense that they try very hard at what they do. However, you can tell they are a bit short staff at the reception area.

      8. The pool area is cute but it is a bit loud because the hotel is located relatively close to the main road. You actually can hear the traffic from the pool area.

Overall, I would stay at this hotel again if I am given the choice. Just don't set your expectations too high and you will enjoy this place very much.

      It was okay

My family and I stayed at the Radisson Spring Break week- Mar 18-25. The hotel is beautiful. Very spacious and clean. However, one day when we came back to the hotel for an afternoon break our room was not clean. Housekeeping came by at 4pm to ask if we still needed service. The location of the hotel has positives and negatives. It is very close to DT Disney. The problem is the entrance of the hotel is on SR 535. If you are not careful, you could miss the entrance to the hotel. And because it sits on this street (very busy) you have to u-turn, stop at the light, go under the freeway, stop at another light and then enter the hotel parking lot. It has the same entrance as the Waffle House and a souvenir shop. The other problems with this hotel is that it does not have a computer center for guests nor does it have a laundry room. I was told I would have to go to one of their sister hotels for those services.

But all in all, I did like the hotel. The rate was excellent. The room was very spacious. The microwave and fridge came in handy. It saved us a lot of money on food as we did not have to eat out so much. And if we had any leftovers, we could bring them back and warm them in the microwave. There are also several places in the area that deliver. That was a plus as well. I would stay at the hotel again. However, I would not go at such a busy time. Getting to the hotel was just frustrating.

My family and I just returned from Orlando this past weekend. The new Radisson is absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are amazing with their new decor. Location is perfect, just 30 seconds from Disney Main Entrance. Staff very polite and helpful. We paid $109 per night and thought it was a great deal, especially for a brand new place and entering Peak Season. We will definitely stay here again.

      Nice overhaul

Went to Orlando on a one night golf holiday. Drove to my Lake Buena Vista home. I always stay in the area there by the Hyatt Grand Cypress though not at that hotel. The Radisson was just open two weeks and advertising a special rate. Paid $109 for the night.

This hotel was an old Days Inn. Took 22 months to remodel but they did a great job. Sleep Number beds with nice linens. (Pillows toooo smushy) Nice 37 inch LCD flat screen, small fridge, micro. Obviously very clean since it was only open 2 weeks.

Girl at the front desk was kind enough to log me into Southwest web site so I could get my boarding pass 24 hrs. early. Staff was nice but I don't demand much.

Hope they keep the place up because the overhaul was great.
