The weather was the story today as we traveled from Chicago to Madison, WI. Things were great until we reached Madison and then all the elements combined to make an interesting evening. Wow, can't believe it's been a year since I left my house and moved onto the road. With hindsight I wish I took more pictures. I was in great places where I didn't document with my camera. ... a healthy lunch. A weather system moves just slightly south of the lakes and Chicago to the east. Therefore we decide to stay on the north side and plan the route via Madison, Wisconsin an then the next day crossing the lakes. A beatiful approach into Madison Rwy 03, flying along the frozen lake and the capitol at sunset. Dinner at the Olive Garden (Italian style chain), few drinks and a round of billiard and dart then we are wrecked.

Amazing mileage today, 1200km and it wasn't even that painful. I'm here! I've finally arrived and settled in my new home town for the next two years, Madison , Wisconsin . I drove here early on Sunday with my parents which turned out to be a long, LONG 13 hour car ride. There were some tense moments but for the most part the drive was tolerable, if not enjoyable. Went here on my trip around the U.S. Visited the University of Wisconsin campus. I was shocked to find it infiltrated by socialists! Man are the people there ever different from back home in Louisiana. And I don't mean in a good way! It was like being in a foreign country for me.
