... and Dad were stopped by a guy collecting money for the Soup Kitchen. An African American who was super cool and told Dad that if he didn't hold Mum's hand, someone else would! Although he also reiterated to Dad, that being San Francisco there was also every chance that someone might come and hold his hand too. It is San Fran after all, and anything goes here! With a few dollars donation, they walked off with their 'I Love San Francisco' & 'I luv your smile' ...
Seward to Haines
... down and car packed by 7:45 - record time. After leaving the Matanuska Glacier we stopped for breakfast at the Sheep Mountain Lodge (nice) and then for several photo shoots - it was hard to make good time as were stopping around every turn on the Glen Highway to take a photo - spectacular drive! In the middle of nowhere we pass the Howlin Wolf Java Hut - Espresso. Eventually our mountain horizon gave way to bogs of black spruce - grey ...
From Bay to Beach
... the horizon appeared the giant wooden sails of the Dutch Windmill - our final stop before we reached the beach. We collapsed onto the lawn for a breather before heading out to see the sea. It hit me as I pulled out the map to check where the free park shuttle would pick us up that we had walked over half the width of San Francisco in one day! No wonder we were exhausted! And while the shuttle would take us back to the main gate, we still had o make our way back to the other side ...
Walmart Bikes
... ordered, the waitress had accidentally put us in for four spicy tuna rolls! I couldn't believe the price on the bill but she completely understood the situation and apologized because it was her fault. In retrospect we should have known that all of the sushi was excessive but we honestly thought we were getting some sort of deal. In the end it all worked out and the four of us shared some laughs.

... a few blocks away. On the way we met an American guy from Charlotte called Blaine. The first bar was ok - we somehow ended up next to a guy from Boston who was very friendly. He bought us all drinks and was quite funny but we think maybe had some relationship issues... He also bought Helen and Anna an American sized shot - which are HUGE! We also met a guy from England called will who we let be an 'honorary girl' for the evening. We had a really good night meeting people, ...
