... because we didn’t have enough fuel to keep circling around the airport until we could land. To fix the problem, we landed in a nearby airport located in Jacksonville. There they re-fueled which took about 45 minutes and then quick smart, got ready for take-off. It was a 30 minute flight from Jacksonville to Orlando, so the seatbelt sign never went off.
Later that night we went to dinner ...
We have arrived in Minneapolis and our next flight is on time to Amsterdam departing at 3:10pm. Nothing else to report...which is probably a good thing!
Happy 10th anniversary to my twisted sister-in-law Marion and hubby Cecil...Congratulations!!! ...
... So as I embark on my reallllllly longggg plane rides tomorrow, I'll listen to my heart and my soul (cue Lorie Line) sing with joy. I already know I made the right decision, so now I just get to enjoy the ride. It'll all be alright. Actually...it'll be dang amazing!!!!
P.S. I'm anticipating my other blog entries to be more entertaining and less sappy. But who knows, right?! Maybe French baguettes will make me want to write poetry or something ;) ...
... home it was tough to tell the kiddos to go to bed. Anika was lingering pretty late into the night and wasn't ready to leave me. It was great having a helping hand at packing though - especially one willing to run all over the house at every beckon and call.

If you read my blog about hiking across Isle Royale last year, you'll be surprised to learn I am doing it again. This time alone. I'm taking a different route this time, straight across the island on the Greenstone Ridge trail, which is not nearly as arduous as last year's trek. But to make it harder, after I reach the far side of the island, I'll meet up with Julie, and we'll hike five more days together.
Doing the long hike alone means I get to keep my own pace, pay attention ...
