We've spent the last few days in and around the Phoenix area, staying with Uncle Jim and Aunt Kay Scheuerell. We've gone out to eat, gone to a flea market, a microbrewery, a mountain hike (got to the top, but had a couple spills getting down) and overall have been having a great time.

... with us for the my brief goodbye. I'm sure I will see them again after I make my transition. Mimi kept me together while we dedicated these old friends to an eternal, peaceful trip where all great slippers surely go. Hopefully, someday, I will find them comfortably sitting next to my old dog "Girlfriend" and my beautiful wife Mimi.
... 2 pm (MST), heading to Phoenix, AZ. we are staying in the parking lot of the wild horse casino (nope not gambling yet). Got here a little late but going to try to sleep in (lol) before heading to Vegas, which is only about 5 hours away. Oh by the way, congrats to my sister Laura, going to tie the knot with Robert (still waiting on my cow, pig, or horse)......so anyway no other news, so CYA in VEGAS ...
... a little chilly. The unusual category was just that, entries
with such ingredients as ones made with habanero peppers, coconut, and agave
water and another salsa made with red grapes, roma tomatoes, and garlic made the unusual category quite
interesting. However, our vote for best unusual went to the strawberry mint
salsa that was refreshing, sweet, and in the words of my six year old, "yummy". Most
of the salsas were admirable entries ...
