      ... The Rolling Rock Gallery. What a wonderful place-owned by 2 science teachers and features mostly educational toys plus local art and unique crafts. We spent a long time talking with the manager and a clerk and may have sold 2 books! More walking to a tavern we always eat when in town. The have the very best veggie burger with salad and fresh fruit for $8. We were just leaving town when Don L called and he will meet us at home in an hour so I can pay him ...

      ... brightly painted and lit up by the sun. The US is generally short on hostels, but those I've been to have been very good. The hostel in Flagstaff is fabulously located near the Amtrak station and has everything you could need, as well as being strangely quiet despite the number of people staying there. Some get up late and you don't see them, others are up early for the canyon and disappear, while the kitchen seemed to be only occasionally used. Camel backpackers here ...

      ... we belong! At last out to Lido’s again for dinner (not too much choice here!) and another good dinner and nice talkative people. They gave us a free dessert for birthday and we had a peanut butter chocolate pie that was excellent-as good as the one I make! A busy and fun day.
