Family Reunion Maine & New Hampshire

... the girls and two dogs, Roxy and Pepper.

The afternoon went quickly as George and Ann caught up on the events of the past ten years. Jenny's Birthday

... had a great Birthday dinner. We followed up by going to Hayward's Ice Cream stand to get "kiddy cups" (these are only 2 gigantic scoops) -- Jenny got moose tracks with peanut butter cups on top (this was the closest she got to a moose in New Hampshire).

We came back to Paul's parent's house and watched the OSU v. Arizona football game on TV. Both the Beavers and the Red Sox lost today, so that was a bummer. Other than that, it was an outstanding day.

Home Sweet Home!

So we managed to find our way home after an incredible summer. In just over 5 weeks we were in 29 States, drove 12,700 miles, visited 5 World Heritage Sites, many wonderful state and national parks, saw great cities, awesome beaches and fantastic friends and family. This was a time I will cherish forever.

Thanks to all who have followed my blog and taken this journey with us.

ox
Lisa

Getting Started on this Blog

... able to listen to the inane ramblings of an over caffeinated couple trekking across the country in an obnoxiously yellow beast adding to the daunting amount of pollution that chokes the life from our planet, all while enjoying the many pleasures that this great land affords us on the highways and by ways, so we hope you will all enjoy our report of the ridiculous happenings and oddities we encounter! In closing, happy trails, and until our next installment, take care!
One more day to the coast!

... although 85 miles was too short! The climbing went well and compared to the beginning of the trip it was quite satisfying to be able to conquer all the hills without coming close to having to walk. Tonight will be the last dinner with all of us together, and a good time to reflect on what this was all about. I started this as a gesture relating to the untimely death of my brother, but it has been made clear to me that I was angry that ...

Planning for the trip

Preparing for the trip…

I was fortunate enough to be selected (over 400 applied – talk about an ego boost) by Korean Studies Workshop for a two week study/travel seminar/workshop to South Korea. Last year, when I was selected for the Fulbright – Hays to Greece and Bulgaria, I hand journaled. Nice but blogging will allow me to insert photos etc. ; therefore, I am setting up this online travel and research blog to which I have added your ...

I am not inviting comment and/or analysis regarding this comment this is purely rhetorical. I am studying in New Hampshire and as you all know I am geographically challenged so I thought New Hampshire was somewhere near Philadelphia. Well needless to say I was wrong. Pre-Trip Preparation

... When - Sept. 7th 2004 - March 2005 Where - England, Ireland, France, Austria, Germany, India, Thailand, Taiwan, China and maybe Japan. Why - I've always wanted to do this since I was a kid. Foreign places fascinated me, especially London, Paris, India and any Asian culture. How - I don't have any secrets, I simply saved money when I was working by keeping my costs down. Then I decided to leave work when the time was optimal. I'm ready to go...
