We were up early-ish but got a later start than most in our hotel. Gates at the venue opened at 0600 and I was afraid everyone would be lined up to get in. So we waited. Had a good couple of days. A couple of Cheryl's high school friends, who are married, Molly and David Woody, joined us at the campground for lunch. They stayed on into the evening. Today, the drive between Monticello and Poplar Forest can be done in a little under two hours. In Jefferson's day it was a 3 to 4 day ride by carriage or horseback.
