    Took off from Illinois at about 9:00. We drove about 600 miles
    and boondoggled (Sheila says boondocked, not sure which one is right) at a rest
    area in Ashland, Kentucky. Tomorrow, we have about 400 miles to go to get to
    Zack’s. With an early start, we should get there about 2:00pm.

    ... it was canceled due to torrential downpour. Instead we made fresh ravioli and played Scrabble. Elena is quite a whiz at Scrabble. Saturday morning still brought rain, so Pappy and Elena went to town and saw Jurrassic World at the theater. The afternoon brought sunshine and a beautiful day. We each made a paper boat and had a boat race. Mia's should have been the Titanic as it sunk fairly soon ...

The Kaufmann's budget for the "cottage" was about $30,000, it ended up costing $155,000 which is $2.6 million in today's dollars, but it would probably cost way more than that to build today - it was built during the depression when people would work for peanuts just to have a job.

    A Nice Stopover

    ... the Dock on the computer. Also getting all iPad and iPhone updates done! After we set up we went for a brief walk around the campground as Jerry wanted to see how we'd be leaving tomorrow. When we entered the park there was a sign denoting sharp right turn. Boy, were they right but we came in with no problem. Set up and had a roast in the crock pot in 25 minutes! Not bad.
