This is what too many days of rain &/or clouds will do - you find yourself looking down at your shadow, grinning foolishly as you ride. I felt fantastic with that sun beaming down, decided to ride another couple of hours after riding thru' Cave City & its wonderful kitschy offerings of Dinosaur Land, minigolf, gokarts & water slides. The Wigwam Motel there would have ...
Ashland, Kentucky, United States visionrider... the VERY west, kind of the middle of no where side of West Virginia that is. We saw some beautiful scenery on the trip through Maryland and West Virginia. Lots of mountains and some rock walls. Amazingly we all survived riding in the car together for 10 hours! The plan is to pack up early tomorrow and head to the Arch in St. Louis -Amber
Milton, West Virginia, United States millerfamily... well.
Saw a lot of State Police nabbing speeders today so the 3 states must be holding people to no more than 5 or possibly 10 over the limit. Not sure how fast those persons were going but a couple of them definitely flew by us in their black fancy car with all the windows blackened....
We arrived at the Super 8 here in Grayson at 1645 this afternoon and found the motel to be very acceptable especially at the $45 room rate ...
... a notebook saying who's been where. We were most successful in Ohio, and to celebrate we ate at a little diner type restaurant called Monty's in Chesapeake. It was the first time success tasted like an Italian sub not made in New Jersey or New York.
Our trip took us through Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio. Eight hours in a massive suburban, both ways, and random journeys to places like Hillbilly Hotdogs and the home of Mothman, we saw parts of the country ...
... museum was one of the most informative we have been to and deserved more time that we could afford to explore it. We did enjoy the parade of famous horses where we saw one called Cigar who had won just short of 1 million US$, we also went to the ring to see the parade of breeds where riders ride out lots of different breeds of horses dressed in relevant costumes. The commentary was excellent at both events. We ...
Huntington, West Virginia, United States manningnz... than I wanted but I'm not taking much so there isn't much I can eliminate. I'm going to try my hardest to get my pack on the plan with me. It's about 4 linear inches too big but I doubt they'll object. I spent tonight listening to Thai phrases and made myself a cheat sheet of the phrases I thought were most important: Hello How much is ...
Charleston, West Virginia, United States blindfaith101Today's show was at 3:00 in the afternoon. It was a weird time to do a show and we had been driving all day. I open the backstage door to start the show, and a huge whiff of popcorn finds its way into my nostrils. I think, "Who is eating such buttery goodness right now?" I try to not think about how hungry I am and start the show. Once on stage, I spot the culprits! They were ...
Ashland, Kentucky, United States ericaleeI'm getting SO excited about my upcoming trip. I'm scheduled to leave March 13th. (2) moisture wicking short sleeve shirts X 2. (1) long sleeve shirt X 3. (2) pants (zip-off, convertible to shorts) X 4. (1) swim shorts X 5. (1) swimsuit ...
Charleston, West Virginia, United States blindfaith101... This area is a rather new addition to Huntington. It was established in 2004 and has all sorts of trendy new businesses and restaurants, including, ahem, a Starbucks. We ate at Max and Erma's. I didn't realize at first that this is a chain restaurant because we don't have them in Chicago. It ended up being an ultimately great place to eat and got, again, great service. In ...
