Mom and I went to Food Lion and stocked up on, well, mainly cheese. It was such great weather I told her we needed to take the dog somewhere different to walk. All I could manage to convince her to do was to go down the highway to the Veterans’ Memorial Park. It’s basically a paved circular walkway. It wasn’t wonderful, but at least we weren’t sitting in the house watching the food channel!!

... been transcribing my old travel journals, I’ve noticed how often I list the menus at various restaurants along the way. I don’t think that will be a major part of this travel blog. Winston-Salem has been the best stop so far. We played at the Stevens Center, which was a great space, with really knowledgeable and friendly crew members. The show went extremely well, and the kids seemed to really enjoy the show. Our hotel was a truly interesting experience. You could tell that once upon a time it was a not-so-great place, that was recently renovated and made into a "salon and day spa." It was pretty nice, but still with hints ...

... br> I will long remember seeing little Eve, tears in her eyes, saying thank you to the riders and little Adolpho thanking us for riding. It wasn't the riders, it was the donors of blood, platelets, stem cells and marrow and the donor families who were able to turn a negative into a positive for Olivia, Eve, Adopho, Ryleigh and so many others.

This trip was really fun. I really liked actually working on the house and had a great group to work with. I met a lot of really cool people and had a great week. The amount of change in the house was amazing by the time we got done with it. The woman who lived there was a pack rat and had **** all over the place. There were coupons that expired 7 years before in her house haha. But we cleaned up most of the place and redid the entire living room and crawlspace.

Wes and I are packing things up, doing some last minute research, and filling up our iPod for the long trip ahead. It's nice to be able to break up the trip into two segments with a stop in Pennsylvania after an eight hour drive tomorrow. Then it's on to Sandwich, Cape Cod on Sunday. We are ...
