... washing clothes etc it was apparant how much we took for granted. An import rule was revealed stating only 3 imports were allowed on the team sheet of the first team of which this club had many imports. I didnt mind because i feel second and third div will improve me as a player and is what i want from this experience. I am also helping coach the thirds. Rugby is seen over here as the bit of fun before the **** up however i am learning alot about life and rugby.
... on Whyte Avenue in the centre of Old Strathcona. I had read about this vibrant neighbourhood and had wanted to visit it. As it turns out, I spent most of my weekend in Edmonton in this very part of the city, without even discovering what downtown has to offer. Dann's work contract recently ended, so lucky for me, he was able (and willing!) to show me around while Melissa went back to work. We drove out to West Edmonton Mall because, unfortunately perhaps, it's ...

Like the fable of the Tortoise and the Hare, I am learning that slow and steady does, in fact, win the race. "Life is like riding a bicycle. Edmonton, Alberta, Canada whereshegoes... go back through Uganda, into Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, Mozambique, Lesotho and finishing in Capetown South Africa on December 15thish. We will stay there for two more days, fly out to London and spend one day there, and then home by December 19th for Christmas! We can hardly believe this is all happening. I'm already dreaming of gorillas, lions, leopards, school projects, remote tribes, ancient ruins ...

There are RSS feeds for it and Facebook integration and it's all pimped out, yo. I've been spending the last couple months trying to get things lined up. I've been combing over places like Lonely Planet (most especially, the Thorn Tree forums) and Couchsurfing ...
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada justen... my nature. My temporary reality check was a complete break-of-pace. I sat around the house thinking and watching tv all day. Kind of a step back. Until I saw a program on the OLN following a couple Aussies as they backpack around Europe. Eyes back on the target. So cheers to all my brothers-from-other-mothers (and sisters as well). Thank you for being a part of my life. Insert cheesy picture here.
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada fuzzyhatjon... a city approaching one million souls and counting. It's a boom town, too, what with the tar sands viable now that petroleum is steadily bringing $60-70 a barrel, twice that if the speculators smell the blood of fresh consumer meat. As such it’s not the cheapest town around, especially in the summer holiday season, but it’s not the worst either. So what am I doing here?

So I thought. I wonder if I was just numb and unconscious of the chaos that I was inflicting on myself. Well I guess along with being able to twist myself into a pretzel, yoga is also giving me other benefits. It seems to be forcing me to a higher state of body awareness. Grateful for nutrition.
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada whereshegoes... with no luggage, found a hotel, slept for three hours and then was back at the airport to catch the first flight to Edmonton in the morning. I eventually arrived in Edmonton on Friday, December 22nd...and my suitcase arrived one day later. Despite the long journey, it was great to be able to spend the holidays with family and friends. The trip was short and went by way too quickly - especially since I arrived a day later than planned!
