    Good Out of Town Hotel

I have stayed at a variety of hotels over the last 3 months. The Radisson and Park hotels (both the same chain) have always been of a high standard and suited my budget perfectly. The Radisson Blu Media City is about 10km from Dubai. Fortunately taxi fares in Dubai are quite reasonable but I guess that some of the money we have saved on the room has gone on taxi fares.

OMG the Burj Khalifa was the best! we were both so amazed... the silly private tour we booked and the 148th floor was only opened 4 days ago (score!) and they only let people up in small groups, it was perfect... i wiggled my arm over the edge and got totally creeped out... and again i was awed by the flatness EVERY other ...

... Tuesday This morning we went to Burj Khalifa. The tallest building in the world. We discovered where we were meant to be yesterday as you had to go through the Dubai mall to get there. That's a great marketing ploy. The views were just amazing even though because of the summer mists we couldn't see all we would be able to in winter. The heat really explains why they offer free stopovers in summer. Just glad it was only 42 not 50 as often happens. The latest attraction ...

... have gone inside and then catch the monorail, but by this time we were melting in the heat, so opted to head back to the hotel for a rest before heading out again for our dinner cruise. The cruise this evening was a little disappointing. After the well organised evening last night, we were shown to a table for two, so the opportunity to chat with other people was not there. We sat waiting for a large group of diners to arrive before the dhow was allowed to leave the wharf! ...

So here I am, Dubai! After the metro journey to Jumeira Lake Towers where I was staying, it was around 10.30pm and I was so hungry after not eating since the previous evening. I stopped in a little cafe and tucked into a halloumi wrap which was amazing! I then went down to cluster Q where my friend lives, and assumed we were going to have a quiet night. Wrong! Out here they start partying at around midnight. So we got ready and headed ...
