          Good Out of Town Hotel

I have stayed at a variety of hotels over the last 3 months. The Radisson and Park hotels (both the same chain) have always been of a high standard and suited my budget perfectly. The Radisson Blu Media City is about 10km from Dubai. Fortunately taxi fares in Dubai are quite reasonable but I guess that some of the money we have saved on the room has gone on taxi fares.

Dubai starts their work week on Sunday so Troy has to get up early to attend to emails and calls with his new position. We then start our Sunday by worshiping our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We were sitting in the pew at Messiah and Troy shows me a text on his phone that just came through. His Visa has finally been approved. We are both very …

... year! We visited the Palm Jumeirah (man-made Island with 17 fronds) - very upmarket, the Dubai museum - really interesting & much bigger than it looked from the outside, the gold souk - where you are more harassed to buy a fake 'Cartier' watch or a handbag than to go into any of the hundreds of gold shops where the necklaces are so big and 'blingy' that ...

... jumping and relaxing in the pool before heading back to our hotel room for showers, some take out and bed. It's 7:30 and my perfect baby is already fast asleep in my bed. The boys have just snuggled down all squished into different beds and I'm going to join them, Glenn has headed out to get some photos of Dubai at night and will hopefully be home soon but I'm going to snuggle in with my babies and get a much needed nights rest before the big flight back home ...

... hotel Fairmont The Palm at 6.45am. A few others like us were looking at checking in also. Our concierge said that it was normal check in time at 3pm but if our room was free already then he saw no reason why we should sit around and wait. Such a nice young man and didn't have us pay for virtually the whole day early. That was real nice to go lay down for a couple of hours before we went and had a brunch at 11am. ...

... current state therefore I decided to request a wheel chair. They duly ordered one, however after the third request, it finally arrived around 40 minutes later. The person had mis-heard the request and taken it to gate 16 instead of gate 60. We had probably already walked around 400 to 500 metres to get to that point. Anyway, we finally got to the gate after having passed through all of the baggage drops, passport clearances, screenings etc. One good thing was ...
