Anne has added most of what we did today in her comments so it is my turn to just tell it as how I saw it. Our day started at 8:00am with Mick and the boys telling me it was time to get up. After breakfast we took a limo ride (in a Lexus) to the "Palm Island" and the Dubai Mall. The driver was quite informative and it is interesting to know that …
We packed our cases in preparation for our flight to Dubai. We had to say farewell to our alcohol and soft drink as you are not allowed to carry liquids onto the plane. We took a taxi to the airport as it was simpler and quicker than getting the airport shuttle. We could not get our tax form for Anne's glass swans stamped by customs as you need to …
... I sink into a groove and get my stride back. I had no expectations about my mood or emotions for this trip. Would it be hard the first day? First week? Would the nights be especially lonely? Will I feel isolated from friends and family? Honestly it hasn't been as bad as I or anyone else would have expected. I am exhausted and craving a regular sleep schedule but the homesickness hasn't been brutal. As usual, the leaving part is the hardest, ...

TravelPod Member ReviewsRadisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Media City
I have stayed at a variety of hotels over the last 3 months. The Radisson and Park hotels (both the same chain) have always been of a high standard and suited my budget perfectly. The Radisson Blu Media City is about 10km from Dubai. Fortunately taxi fares in Dubai are quite reasonable but I guess that some of the money we have saved on the room has gone on taxi fares.
