Sudbury, Ontario, Canada aimee_in_africa... per the Streets and Trips directions. When we couldn't find the next road we turned to Jack to get us to the Days Inn. Well, Jack liked the route Streets and Trips had us on so we continued on the narrow obscure roads with tiny one way bridges and railroad crossings with warnings to look before crossing. We even blindly followed him along the gravel road half expecting "Bridge Out" signs. We didn't get one of those but ...

Sudbury, Ontario, Canada pringlefarmToday we explored Sudbury noticing how green it has gotten, such a huge change from when I arrived here in 1967 after having been hired to teach here over the phone. It was nothing but barren rocks everywhere! Now with the greening projects that have been going on for a number of years the chaange has been dramatic. We spent the day visiting members of Brian's family.
Sudbury, Ontario, Canada rosemarys... cemetery to find the stone we discovered that Brian's glasses were missing so we tamped it a second time and fortunately found them. We arrived in Sudbury about 4:30, had supper then visited Brian's parent's graves. Then we went to his sister Bridget's house and visited for the evening with Bridget, Mrs. Peplinski, Steven, Jenn, and Steph. The rain put us to sleep.

Mom especially liked the unexpected server at the gas station who pumped our gas for us... you don't really get that in the GTA anymore. I find it oddly fascinating that we're at a campsite and there is internet, but hey I don't mind one bit!

Okay, well its about 11 pm, we're off to bed & up early tomorrow to continue our journey :)
Sudbury, Ontario, Canada lombardi... as a radiation shielding on astronaut's visors and welders helmets lenses. · The tallest smoke stack in Canada is here - 1250 ft. · With all of the miners shift-working 24hrs/day, there wasn't enough locker space in their change room so ALL of the clothes were placed in (or suspended from) a small metal basket that was hoisted to the ceiling where it dried before the next shift. This is another reason that no women worked in a mine -the change room was like a nudist ...
Sudbury, Ontario, Canada jimcabay... serving young person at Science North. Discovery Theatre's presenter Kyla Corelli has been working there for the past eight years. And no I don't mean the centre I mean the actual one section of the Discovery Theatre. Her job is to entertain the children with science experiments in a theatre styled after Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. She is only 22 years old and told me Science North is where every young person in Sudbury tries to get a job because ...
Sudbury, Ontario, Canada mgraveli431 Km Route: Hwy #129S, Hwy #17E The route South on Hwy #129S was a real surprise as wound along the edge of a very interesting river. It turned out the owner was from Belleville and after some ...
