    It has been over two years since the last visit to Poland and it is nice to be back. My own view is that, as a country, the people are friendly, there are generally plenty of great places to eat offering good quality food at good value prices plus, if you want it, in the bigger cities there are all the shopping opportunities you need as well.     ... Szczecin. The city was originally in German territory and called 'Stettin', but after WW2 it was given to Poland, who in turn changed the city name to something completely unpronounceable.
