Another day, another destination, our train left at 11:35am from Taipei to Hualien - down on the east coast of Taiwan. The reason we planned to come to Taiwan all those months ago was because it was really expensive to fly direct from Japan to Vietnam, and stopping off in Taiwan would save us some money - that said we did some internet based research and found the Taroko Gorge National Park. Having discovered the Taroko Gorge by foot yesterday, today's challenge would be to take in the Pacific Coastline on a 20 kilometre round trip by bike. The tour was recommended to us by the kind people in the TIC at Hualien Train station. All we needed now was a bicycle. It was time to tackle the gorge again! However as we didn't manage to see some of the most beautiful trails around Tiansiang the first time out, we decided to ride the bus all the way and walk downhill. Well the thought of it being downhill made it sound much easier. We left the hotel and aimed to get the bus at 8:50am. ... rice, roll, fruit cup, lemon cheesecake and drinks. Meals have been very good so far. I do not know what happened with the breakfast. We were served non-breakfast foods during the whole trip.This flight was a little nicer in that it had several TV screens that were better located and closer to you and at least a half decent movie, Egor.
