An earlier start today to catch the 9am bus to Córdoba. There are two bus stations in Seville and the buses to Córdoba leave from a station just 10 minutes walk away. So the taxi driver who was waiting at the end of the street missed out on a fare. An interesting 2 hour bus ride with 2 stops along the way. We had seats up the front so unfortunately could see how the bus was driven. An older driver who was very casual in his driving and spent most ...

to the Cathedral, which is an amazing sight.

You can really feel the old Arab world in Cordoba. Many teahouses and
architecture still exist from the Moors occupation. We actually stopped in an old ...

Furthermore the city-council had recently decided that it should only be referred to as the Cathedral and no reference to the Mosque! Where has the christian tolerance gone? Why is the freedom of expression disappearing? Once inside, having admired the Minaret ...

... than a thousand years ago. When the Catholics took over Córdoba they decided the mezquita was too beautiful to tear down so they converted it into a Christian church and built a cathedral in the centre. When you go inside the first thing you notice are the striped double arches that seem to go on forever. It would have been amazing to see it before the side chapels and the cathedral blocked out much of the outside light. The mihrab is beautifully decorated to draw ...
