Far de Favaritx is on the very northeast tip of the Menorca. There is a light house out on the very tip of cape and from the landscape it&#8217;s obvious that this area gets a lot of wind, heavy surf and storms.<br><br>We didn&#8217;t stop here or go ashore, but the weather was calm enough to take the helicopter up and get a scenic view of this part of the island. We´ve spent the week excavating a trench! Even with an exclamation point it doesn´t sound too exciting. We dug down over a meter into rocky soil. After breaking up the soil, we had to ¨clean¨ it, which meant sifting through it for anything of importance. It seems like my main job was levering up and tossing out these stones that had been thrown in the trench when the camp was abandoned. We (ok, not me so much ...

Zach did his first ever night watch and was very confident working all the radar and navigation equipment. It was nice to have someone who picked it up so easily. The last week has been mainly one of traveling. After stops in Paris and Barcelona, I arrived in Menorca yesterday. Menorca is an island out in the Mediterranean. Compared to it´s neighbors Maiorca and Ibiza, Menorca is relatively undeveloped. This has allowed the island to retain a lot of natural beauty. The beautiful holiday I ever had, despite the rainy weather and some jellyfishes when the weather was sunny. In Cala Ratjada there are a lot of beautiful beaches and a pretty "promenade" where you can find a lot of nice tapas bars if you want to eat something. Here you are some of my pictures... have fun.
