Today was my last full day in Andorra. There wasn't a huge amount to do. It wasn't snowing, but the wind was so fierce that it seemed like a sand storm made out of snow. I had a great time watching a group of cows grazing in snow up to their stomachs. Other than that I had a walk around town and spent about an hour at a ...

It's been snowing all day and even now as I write this I'm starting at snowflakes the size of tissues hit the window. I wouldn't be surprised if it was up to my waist tomorrow.
There's not too much to do with it snowing like this (ironically enough the ski resorts don't even open till the end of ...

This area of the Salon Noir is an amazing room with a ceiling that corkscrews upwards creating some interesting acoustics. A single clap lasts for over 5 seconds. Voices are lifted upwards and bounce around changing as they go. I can only imagine what it would be like to hear a celebration of instruments and song in a place like this. Perhaps this is part of the significance and why people returned year after year.

... was time to plunge down. Catching a glimpse of the farm with my telephoto lens Brian had some bearings to go by. Into deciduous forest that was misty and light, then further down the valley into darker trees. Ground thick with fallen leaves and branches made traversing difficult. With the steep slope and last night’s rain, it was a little like skree hopping…

... true. we spent all of the time in Normandy at WWII sites, as well as seeing the tapestry of Bayeux. We saw the cathedral in Nantes, took the river tour in Bordeaux, etc....so just because i focus on food and wine, does not mean the sightseeing isn't happening as well...
so as for the sightseeing today in Sahorre, we had a very nice tour of the cave (aka local wine shop) where you can get a liter of wine ...

Andorra la Vella is a duty-free town in a duty-free country. I guess that’s its other claim to fame. The traffic jelly is pretty bad on a Thursday, and I imagine much worse on a weekend. There’s no particular border control with Spain, but returning to France might be backed up, what with cheap cigarettes and all. I look at the electronics, and price cameras, but naah… duty-free doesn’t mean ...
Hi Gang
I've just passed a sign which informed me Perpignan is 41kms away. Perpignan is from where I will fly back to Blighty next week. Yesterday morning at around 2200 metres I was pretty such I could see the Meditterean, pretty exciting stuff. My remaining time on the GR10 has been a blast, although I've been pretty rubbish at keeping my diary up-to-date. Let's think...
Both Jean and I travelled to Montpellier to stay with his folks ...
