... count would invite you into his latrine, which had an actual door that closed, in order to share his "business" and chat. It started snowing as we left, truly transforming it into a winter wonderland, and one of the most beautiful places I've yet to visit.

I spent the first two days of the new year with sister Helen sharing some very enjoyable skiing . The weather was again superb, full sunshine and clear skies. In fact the weather on Friday actually climbed up above zero, only just but we could feel the difference. Somehow the café managed to serve a six course meal with waiters with multiple plates in hand having to dodge around the increasingly wild and vociferous dancers. We hit the road after breakfast and packing up the room, and we headed west towards Annecy. The drive was pretty easy (and quick). Along the way, we saw a huge castle, just sitting there in the middle of a valley, so we stopped to take some pictures. You see the darndest things in France.
