... Slovakia there was one more place we though we had to visit, of course it was on the other side of the country. A bit of research in McDonalds and we set off to Spis Castle, the largest castle complex in central Europe. The rain came again on and off, but we soon made it in time to see the sun set over the castle complex from our car park campsite below.

We made it up to the castle the next morning to play imaginary archers ...

... salad and rice. We ate dinner at home, as we have opera tickets and the show started at 7pm. We saw Ariadne auf Naxos by Strauss and I was able to secure box seats up high, so we had a nice view of the performance. The music and singing were wonderful- the staging was a bit modern and interpretive for my taste but Jim liked it. I guess I'm old fashioned when it comes to my opera- I like the period costume ones. 3. Just up from Hooters was a huge sign "No dogs allowed" and thought Mardi would like that and perhaps they could put one on the ship!

From what we could see on our walk, this is a really nice city. Great old buildings, wide tree lined streets with plenty of shops and cafés etc. the currency is forint but a lot of the traders will take euro but give you change in forint. 1 euro is approximately 300 forint ...
