... At this point we are beginning to feel like this might be a problem, particularly when our driver is arguing with the local police who are predictably indifferent to our plight. However, this seems to fire the driver into action: he breaks a few traffic laws, driving across a pedestrian zone, the wrong way up a one-way street and as the poet says, with one (or two) bound(s), they were free! ... had we struggled much with the language barrier. We promptly said no and that it hadn't actually been a problem we noticed. Out of all the cities we visited about 90%25 of the population that we came into contact with could speak passing English. No problems. Omg no one sleeps during the night in Madrid. People were up, laughing and talking all night. Not much sleep for either of us but that's OK - we will get into the spirit of things. Waking up about 8 we find no kettle and the local shop doesn't sell milk. Interesting. Perhaps they ran out. And since they don't speak English it is hard to know. The tube is easy to get so we bought a 10 trip card and then caught the yellow line to Plaza Sol ...

... dinner at a restaurant in Segovia then it was time to visit the Segovia Cathedral. There are more than 20 chapels with beautiful works of art and stained glass. There is a passageway leading to the cloister which is older than the Cathedral. There are incredible works of art. We saw original paintings, carvings and beautiful tapestries. At last 10 tired travelers boarded the bus and returned to our apartment in Madrid. Hoy ha sido un día largo ...
