... restaurants, it was just lovely.. Once we left the hotel again it was midday and everyone was out, the streets were amass of people, all going somewhere, it is interesting how all that energy energizes you, well us at least, because it was almost siesta time, and it would all change pretty soon. We finally worked our way thru the SIM card business, thanks to a lovely young lady at the store and were off. Walking thru the plaza we bought water from a clever lady vendor ...

... not ideal - but we enjoyed it. We learned to squeeze a lemon over it before eating. For dessert we were given a bowl of cut up fruit with a little scoop of sherbert - very nice. Then a cup of expresso.

We are all beat - we ate at 8:00 p.m. so finished around 9:30 p.m. and all headed to our rooms. Shower felt amazing! Journaling, a few postcards and I'll be zonked. We get to sleep until 7:00 a.m. tomorrow - woo hoo!

Me and Michael spent some time lying on one of the 'apostles' before leaping into the freezing water, which was fun. After a while we all returned home, showered and departed. We stopped at the supermarket on our way to dinner to get some drinks and other shopping. We spent ages ...

We arrived into Madrid at about 7:45 this morning. The flight was only 8 hours from Dulles, but given the time change, it was like we arrived at 12:45am CST. We did our best to sleep on the plane, but there's only so much sleep to be had when the people around you are not necessarily tired and still stirring. I'd guess we managed 2-3 hours of good sleep. Regardless, we arrived excited to begin our exploration of Madrid. The first thing we had to do was locate our apartment ...

Arrived yesterday avo...Hospideje Romero is a great hostel. It's actually rooms with ensuites in a family home that occupies the entire floor of a beautiful building on the main street of Madrid. They are perfectly clean and comfortable. Girls are across the hall from us. We can't work out if there's anyone else staying here? After a siesta we wandered through ...
