    This morning in Lisbon was much cooler. In fact it was quite cold for a while and very overcast but by mid-morning we were back to blue skies and climbing temperatures. Sue and I were on the road by 8.00 which was partly my fault because, for some reason, I thought it was an hour later. Never mind. We had only a few hours left in Lisbon and we needed to make the most of it before our bus pulled out mid afternoon.

    Lots of people say I am brave to travel on my own but actually I am nervous about almost everything, so when it came to leaving Spain I was worried about crossing the border and also worried about the Portuguese toll roads which appeared to have a rather different method of payment.     This morning I tried to wake up to see the sunrise from the roof of the pension, but by the time I got up there the sun was already up, despite being earlier than I was told I needed to get up there.     ... a local restaurant called Ria Formosa, which serves the local dish Cataplana, which is a sort of stew/ratatouille containing prawns, clams, clams and vegies ina tomato based sauce. We shared two different Cataplanas, one with fish with bones, the other without. Others had large prawns on a large skewer or steak cooked on a hot stone. All three dishes were very delicious!
