... in the distance. We only had about an hour of daylight to walk around, but really we didn't need much more time. It is super small, but very cute and quaint. We climbed up the castle wall surrounding the village and you could see the whole town. Plus it was beautiful with the sun setting and there was mist hoovering on the fields around us because of the earlier rain. It was perfect timing on our part. A great stop!

... and Michel watched a couple steal the croissants off the buffet, wrapping them in serviettes and even pouring the drinks into plastic bags, we went to the beach. Of course, just like all Portuguese, we went to the beach just to lie on the sand, not swim. Then we headed further south. First stop supermarket to buy food for a picnic then off towards Peniche where we had planned to picnic on the rock formations of Cabo Carvoeiro. Photos posted. ...

... I always feel comforted when I see nuns or visit places where the religious experience for some is extreme, such as Fatima or Lourdes. This feeling of comfort stems from actually witnessing the enormity of belief. A belief which can lead some people to dedicate their lives to God - nuns, priests, monks etc. Or to build a huge sanctuary dedicated to Mary's apparition told by three shephard children.
