I made it to Lagos yesterday. Its basically a beach/party town. The second place that I walked into turned out to be a really great room for 25 euros a night complete with my first english language tv of the trip. Today I spent part of the day in Sagres, the southwestern most point in europe. Good for pictures and walking really really far. Tomorrow I´m going to attempt to get to Seville.
This weekend I went on a trip to Lagos, Portugal with an organization called DiscoverSevilla. I had an absolutely amazing time!!!!!!!!!!! This is my first trip outside of Spain and it couldn't have gone better.
We arrived at the hotel dropped off our belongings and had a few hours to explore before dinner. The hotel was right on the beach and had an absolutely amazing view, I have never seen ...
My journies continue. I am going to continue to praise Portugal for the rest of this trip, i think. I dont know which place i have had a better time at. Ohh, wait, i know, Portugal.
This country has it all, for me. Great food, cheap food, cheap alochol, surfing, great beaches. Relaxation, cheap partying, a language i am willing to learn, relaxed and very friendly people and if i was single, beautiful women. Now, the only downside is that there isnt a ...
Ola!
So now we find ourselves in Spain, our fourth country on the list. Let's backtrack to our adventures in Lisboa and Lagos.
After being pleasantly surprised with our amazing hostel, Lisbon Lounge, we headed out for our first meal in Portugal. All of us were like what the hell, it is freezing. Little did we know that it is now fall - we're still in beach mode. However it was still smoking during the day, highs around 28 degrees. Some of us had a ...
Life was pretty sweet in Lagos - we stayed for a week, and could have stayed for 10 more.. Beautiful beaches, crystal clear water, lovely town, the best weather, and it was nice and cheap! We could go out for a decent dinner for 10-15 euros and there was Cafe Odeon that did 3 euro breakfasts run by a Dutchman.. YUUUUMMMY!
We spent most days beach hopping, relaxing and enjoying the beautiful water and scenery, playing 'beach ball' italian style! (even though they were JAM PACKED ...
I recently returned from a beautiful vacation with my girlfriend in Lagos. As a symbol of our commitment, we purchased a pair of brown coconut rings in the main square. There were hundreds of them and they were 1-2 euros.
I broke mine the other day and she is disappointed because of what it represented to her. I'm ...
... about the Qantas, Jetstar or Virgin Blue self check in system. Unlike BA, if you were booked to fly together then generally when you go to check yourself in all call up your booking, the person that your are travelling with also appears. But at BA, the idea seems to be if you don't go and start checking in 24 hours before your departure, then they will allocate you seats at random, so not taking into account that you are travelling with your significant other and may ...
Faro, Algarve, Portugal pat_n_melAfter rocking up to my Hostel in Lagos at 11:30 at night i was pretty keen to get out see the town so dumped my bags and set off to find the find the first pub with cold beers. The night started pretty calm with a bit of a stroll around Lagos town stopping off for the occasional pint at different pubs. Finally i met this American dude and started drinking with him and before i knew it, it was 8am in the morning ...
Lagos, Algarve, Portugal rusty_oz... pedestrianised area not served by buses, so will be at least in the short term a complement to the bus network, ferrying passengers from the Prado San Sebastian terminal into the old city. The are some pleasant pedestrian shopping streets protected from the sun by high awnings. Small groups of classical musicians were playing in the shade. Quite civilised. Most of the shops were of course closed, it being a Sunday It was still hot in the late afternoon, so I took the ...
