    ... into her. She got us all set up with our ferry tickets, there and back, explained what we would be doing, and walked us to the waiting area for the boat. We didn't have to wait long, maybe 10 minutes, and then boarded the, deceivingly large, ferry. The trip lasted about 30 minutes, but that wasn't enough to prepare us for what was to come.
    Stepping off the ferry, we immediately realized how much more crowded it was in Playa del Carmen ...

    ... off in what we hoped was the right direction! Two and a half hours after starting our road trip we reached a toll on the highway where we had to pay the equivalent to approx $25 for the pleasure of continuing down the same road. Whilst there the man told us we could have in fact taken the freeway and it would have only been a 25 minute drive!     ... to the beach and everybody else from the Raza en Playa whatsapp group was there enjoying the sun and the sea. We basked in the sun, read, chat, swim.

    We went to have lunch to Los Aguachiles. They had delicious food, we try the figurines (lettuce tacos), a full grilled octopus, aguachiles, tostadas and Huesos even tried a good mezcal from Oaxaca. It was a great lunch.

    After spending another morning and most of the afternoon lying by the beach we managed to drag ourselves away and head to Playa del Carmen. We decided to get the local bus to the main bus station wondering if our limited Spanish would get us there - which it did, it was actually really easy!
