... were that we managed to drink 6-8 beers everyday. We did get time on the beach to chill. I read 2 and a half books. Kev watched a lot of You-Tube videos and we found an awesome little place to eat. The food was great and cheap.

We have now left Playa del Carmen to go onto Chichen Itza and I have hopefully learnt to read reviews. But come what may this is our journey. We are bound to make mistakes. It's what we learn during the stay that make us wiser along the way.

Over our days here, we enjoyed walking up and down the very touristic 5th Avenue, looking at all the shops, eating in a couple restaurants, and taking in the tourist scene of Playa del Carmen. ... says "you'll never guess who the DJ is?" Our mate Carlos was up there spinning the tunes, a quiet cool dude he was indeed. Eventually he came and joined us for a drink and as the sun set, my heart smiled from the inside out. What a day I'd had, with the man I love but also a group of awesome people in an absolutely stunning country. On our final day we were terribly sad to be leaving the island, it was certainly a place we both could easily have stayed longer, but we knew ...

... something my children relished. We found a small yet perfect little beach that was close to Elisa's home. It had a great tide pool for the kids to explore and small almost "lagoon" for the kids to swim in and explore. Isabella prefered the tide pool, finding many interesting creatures while Lukas and his little cousin Italia prefered to swim and splach in the little lagoon while alos practicing and perfecting using a mask ...
