Well I was wondering how to cope with
the four long driving days between Denver and Chicago and Todd and
Amy suggested to take the US 36.
So I just did it and yes it was a
wonderful advice, I went to the very beginning in a small town called
Strasburg and took the straight blue highway toward the East until I

Drove forty miles into Hannibal this morning. Not many tourists in town so it was quiet. Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum was well-done. Lots of pictures and quotes on the walls, good narrative, excellent DVD playing with great detail on his life. Becky Thatcher and Huck Finn's houses included detailed descriptions of the real people the characters ...
... are narrower and have rumble strips placed right on top of the white side lines. It was a windy day so it was hard to keep RT in the absolute center of the lane so I didn't "rumble". Stopped @ Casey's General Store in the small town of Canton – gas was $2.08 per gallon, temperature was 92 degrees !
