The 4wd course was full on - we learnt not just about our own 4wd, but also about others on the road, so that if we need to assist another vehicle we know a little about how their gear box / engine works! So, I was a bit confused before I went, and now I'm utterly confused. One thing I do know is that we don't have a limited slip diff anymore (now that we've had front and rear air lockers put in). During the flight hour I started planning my route in Indonesia and somehow managed to get three big spots of green pen - each abut a centimetre wide - on the top of the left leg of my jeans. In Brisbane I went to the toilets and tried cleaning it off with a dampened paper towel. Massive error. There was obviously a lot of ink involved, as the rubbing and the water served only to make the stain much, much worse. In short ...

Otherwise I haven't been doing much other than walked the streets, trying to see as much as possible of the city. The Rocks is the old part of town, a former labour area with former workshopbuildings which is transformed to culturalcenters. Sydney theatre is situated here. Of course they didnt have it, and had no idea what I was talking about, so I have to go find AAT's office and the girl there said I should have gotten the voucher when I first boarded bus, then didnt seem to believe that I didnt get it, so regrettfully wrote me up one. ... the skies are clear there is a definite wind that will get you! Sunday was a day of rest and enabled me to sort out all my stuff, do washing etc and pack as decided to change to a different, smaller and cheaper hostel to help me focus. Even found time to hand out a few more C.V.s

The day from surf camp to Sydney was a struggle! I still felt really ill, but that was coupled with a fair bit of a goon hangover, a really early start, and about a 10 hour bus journey. Not ideal.

By the time we got to Sydney though I'd just about recovered from the hangover and had woken up, but the cough and cold was still going strong. Coming into Sydney was pretty cool though, as we drove right over the harbour bridge, and got a great view of ...

Yes you heard it hear first...Hillary is in fact, in the end, employable. Oh and guess what? Mom was right-- it's all about networking. ****. I hate when she's right. But indeed, I have applied for just about 6000 jobs through every job search ...

For those who pray, please pray that I finish all the loose ends before I leave and that I get everything done in time. Pray that my parents put their trust in God for my safety and are comforted by the knowledge of His sovereignty. Pray for my Grandma who leaves on thursday as her sister has passed away.Pray for me, that God's grace is sufficient for me and that I do not look for other things for satisfaction. 

As I write this, I am enjoying my last day in Sydney. I fly out tomorrow at 3 to San Francisco, where I'll connect to O'Hare and home. I'm not particularly looking forward to that 20+ hours of traveling,but I will enjoy traveling back in time, as I will land earlier than when I left thanks to the time/date change. I'm not doing a whole helluva lot today- just sitting outside and enjoying the sun right now ...
