... fun, but none of us could stay up that late. We are still adjusting to the time difference. We fell asleep at about 9:30 New Zealand time and woke up around 7 so I think we definitely got enought sleep. It's a running joke for us that we work really hard to find work, but I suppose that is what we'll be doing today, walking long distances and turning in resumes practically everywhere. We all miss everyone at home, but are doing fine and still having fun.

Wellington, North Island, New Zealand kirst-leszek09... near or over Masterton. My friends have declined, but will be waiting for me on the ground, cheering me on!

My primary activity today was finishing off a project started last night; the baking of Gruyere-stuffed Crusty Loaves. Mmmmm, cheese-stuffed bread in the form of rustic, crusty rounds. What could go better with our planned barbecue in wine country after a morning of tasting wine, developing a lovely tipsy glow?? I ...
Johnsonville, New Zealand webbecca... entertainment value to make it to my top pick of North Island. Noooo the actual showing of the shearing has made it to my top weirdest **** I've ever seen.
First the old lady brings out a rabbit half her size and stretches the bunnie on what can only be descreipt as a roast pit. I am a devout animal lover and I was shocked in the beginning but trust me, after shock comes laughter.
Then the shearing commences where the bunny gets rotated on her ...

Wellington, North Island, New Zealand silvi1101... hours and still missed some of the floors. My favorite part was seeing the Colossal Squid. Te Papa is the only museum in the world with a giant squid on display. Sadly, it is dead, because it got caught in a fishing net, but it is so wild looking. This one was a female and is was four meters long, which is quite small for a giant squid. Her eye was the size of a soccer ball and she has a sharp beak for a mouth and hooks on its tentacles. I would ...
Wellington, North Island, New Zealand zolab... tree ferns that made it seem very jungly. If it had been Australia I wouldn't have gone 6 ft into an area like that with all the poisonous snakes and spiders but as there are none here it felt very safe. We also took side tracks to twowater falls, one of which was quite spectacular. The walk took us something over two hours, which brought us close to lunch time and we decided we like to try something other than the Niagara Falls café so had to drive ...
Waikawa, South Island, New Zealand maxnstan... Forest. It is on the coast and through some mineral deposits, some tree stumps, fallen logs, and sea shells have been preserved on the beach. The first impression of the beach was confusion...where were the petrified trees. But once you look closer, then you can see them captured in the stones. I loved seeing the fallen logs on the beach most. There were also a couple ...
