... too many photos, as usual, but the stalagtite and stalagmite formations are amazing.
Margaret and I took Tara the dog for a walk every day I was there, we walked along the beach the first evening with the sun setting, really beautiful and also warm. On another occasion we walked around the local park, I was very impressed with the parks everywhere and this one no exception, areas for children, birdwatchers, doggie walks or just a place ...
After hauling our luggage ten minutes in the wrong direction, we finally found Travellers Autobarn, just on the outskirts of Northbridge. A few simple forms to sign, a large sum of money paid and voila we had our hitop campervan, home for the next five months. I was really impressed with it - huge bed in the back (converted from seats and a table), decent sized sink, fridge, even comes with microwave. Brilliant. Loads of ...
Bunbury, Western Australia, Australia darrenstravelsAnd of we go to my second road trip. This time with friends.. Thanks again Andy for letting us stay so long, it was really nice with you. That's how it should be a little apartment crowded with people. Too bad I don't have pictures from you guys. Katl and I explored a little our ...
Bunbury, Australia silberregen... of indulgence. Fine wine, great food and an evening spread of Shiraz from the Were Estate and sickening amounts of smelly cheese. Bliss. Linda was on her back and I wasn't far behind. All in all it was a great day of firsts and I'm stoked I got to chomp down on a bit of crocodile (spot on) and 'Wagyu beef' - the one where they feed the cow buckets of exquisite Margaret River wine and massage it daily with loving ...

After savouring the sunset we drove to the main street and chose a nice bar/restaurant for dinner.
Katie managed to resist another meal of fish & chips, while I went for the steak. It's so nice to get stuck into some proper meat and veg after all the rice & noodles in Asia, but we ...
Bunbury, Australia mirja... and off back to Perth. A much more subdued affair than the drive down, but we still managed several renditions of "Down South," "Sunshine Mountain" and "Bear Hunt..." If you don't know the songs, it's take too long to explain! Of the 10 that made it down for the weekend, only 3 of us made it to Boot Camp but Marcus was kind and after an easy (ish!) session it was off home and to bed before having to start back at work on Tuesday... Where did the weekend go?!?
Busselton, Australia markgemmell... runs (at weekends?). Just in case you don't spot it coming, every so often the walkway (which is really quite narrow) says in faded yellow paint 'Look out for train'. A lot of the time, you're walking on old wooden timbers which are very uneven, rickety and look like they've got bad woodworm. the majority of it has a safety rail down one side only, and believe me, it's a long way down if you fall in. It's not that obvious what you do when you're walking ...
Margaret River region, Australia hilarya... on us to spend money. The only other 'highlight' of the day was that Andrew developed a toothache. It didn't seem bad at first but worsened throughout the evening and by the night was excruciating. Painkillers and clove oil didn't help much and swilling his mouth with water was the only thing that seemed to dull the pain for more than 5 seconds. A sleepless night lay ahead. Day 5 The toothache continued into the morning and didn't seem to be letting up ...
Bunbury, Australia gonetilwheneverHi all For those of you who don't know, we're going away for 8 weeks with another family on an outback adventure (! I keep romanticising it so I don't stress about the possible dangers!!! We leave this Friday, Jun 13th (but feel free to send me emails - just not jokes or urgent ones as I'll only be checking when and if I can during the time we're away). I've been in a dither recently!! There seems to be no end to my "to do", "to pack", "to buy" lists ...
