... Paul wanted to go to Kyneton which is where his great grandfather lived, and he also wanted to go to Gisborne which is a bit further south. Paul won and we headed to Kyneton. Now the funny thing is that Paul has an old book on the town which features his great grandfather, Rev F.C.B. Fairey, who was a Congregational Minister from 1890-1902. Sovereign Hill was purpose built to re-create Ballarat’s first ten years after the discovery of gold in 1851 when thousands of prospectors rushed to the goldfields in search of their fortune. ... just small country towns now.

The weather is starting to cool down a bit now. We have had many days over 35 degrees and hardly any rain at all. The fields we drive past are so dry and yellow. The water level in the lakes are low, wonder there have been so many bush fires. This area is so different from the Yarra Ranges we saw recently.
