Going back in time

... but I wouldn't have liked to have gone down there by myself. We had to go down on this train through a dark tunnel & it was dark not one ounce of light until right to the end. One of the coolest thing was when they were blowing up the mine to extend the tunnel to add another little ride they came across an old mine shaft that the miners had set up independently. It was really cool seeing it as it still is. Once we finished there we went to ...

Bumping into an old friend in Ballarat

... ring burner and proper gas bottle. Returned a couple of bits, swapped a water container over and bought a 12v fluorescent light. We hadn't heard back from Sarah with a contact number from Marco Sbardella but decided to head towards Ballarat anyway and hoped to hear enroute. Just before arriving we got a text from Sarah with his number (she had sent two days earlier but hadnt arrived). So luckily we got hold of him and met ...

Right here and now u are happy and you do not know it because your false beliefs and ur distorted perceptions have got u caught up in fears, anxieties, attachments, conflicts, guilt and a host of games that you are programmed to play. if you would see through this you would realize that you are happy and do not know it." page 7 ...

Ballarat - Gold and the Eureka Rebellion

Ballarat is only a 2 hour drive from Melbourne and well worth a visit on the way to Adelaide. It became the world's biggest gold rush town in the 1860's and the world's biggest gold nugget was found here. Because of this Ballarat has a very interesting history and played a pivotal role in making Australia a country in its' own right, no longer just a British colony. At the centre of the town is Sovereign Hill, a journey back in time to its' gold rush days. It's a full scale ...

Brunswick and Moonlight cinema

... I only have one picture, since it was getting dark. So, here we are sitting on a blanket in these lovely surroundings, a kokaburra (sp?) is laughing in the background and big bats are swooping through the air with occasional cackling. Fantastic. Abends sind Olaf und ich dann zum Mondlicht Kino im Botanischen Garten gegangen. Der Botanische Garten ist wunderschön. Habe leider nur ein Bild, da es zu dunkel wurde. Also, saßen wir in dieser ...

Flying Visit

Today Fed and Sylvia (F & S) took Stu and I to see where they used to live - they used to have a farm. We also got to visit there friends in Anakie, and then we went into Geelong and had a walk along the seafront... we saw the old restored Carousel. We then went to see Stephens (F & S's son) house, which is up for sale.... Stu and I would love to buy his house! Then it was back to Melton.

Gold Fever

Does anyone know, is it safe to have a convector heater in a tent? Because that is what we have been reduced to, yes, it is cold here and drizzly and dark, but appart from that everything is fine!! We have spent a great day today, getting 'the Gold Fields Experience'. You wouldn't expect that there were so many ways to be told Gold comes out of the ground, and it was dug out around ...

First up at five.

First step is to get into a routine. Been unemployed for some time now and getting up in the morning has never been a strong point, but alas i have managed to get out of bed at five am.
