Falkenstrasse 2 Baden-Baden, Black Forest, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, 76530, 7221-2190
Featured Excursion: Strasbourg canal cruise
Optional Tour: Haute Königsburg
"See Strasbourg the way it has been seen through the centuries—on a canal cruise. In addition to viewing the town's covered bridges, medieval watchtowers and modern building that houses the European Parliament, you will see "Petite France," a picturesque district that seems as if it has been lifted from the pages of a fairy tale"

... hotel is a big picture of the little prince AND apparently the rooms are decorated after different themes from the book. I didn't get to go in but someday I will definitely stay there.
I also saw my first movie in a German theatre which was really cool...I saw Up, I liked it but obviously didn't understand much. Anyway, I definitely recommend it...even just for a few hours!
Last leg of the European jaunt and we've decided to try out the Black Forest...the bad weather was the final nail in the coffin and after 3 days of dripping foggy weather, we decided to jack in the caravan and head to Octoberfest, but more of that later.
So a quick trip to a 500 yr old stud farm started by King Wilhelm the 1st, where they breed beautiful Black Forest horses and Arabs then, Baden Baden to take in the sights of this thermal spa town and ...
All right, so we did the naked frolicking in the baths, went cuckoo over cuckoo clocks, drove all over the not so black, Black Forest and visited an open air cultural museum near Gutach, which was weird because it was suppose to be a museum about how life was back in yesteryear for Germans. And it was for the most part.
As I walked through a typical period ...
... there you think you're next in line for a physical. Anyway, the attendant directs you to these oversized shower heads that send a cascade of warm water down on you. Your told to lather up and bath before continuing. Soon other naked, unsure of where they're going, bathers enter and make their way to a shower. I would say after a few minutes of this, Mila and I got over it. We're definitely heading back once more before we leave. Can't wait to post the pics.
Baden-Baden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany laters... uber quaint street of restaurants that just happened to lead to the city’s biggest church and a very busy social center for tourists and nearby locals. We took pictures of the church at night because the architecture is amazing and stands out even more with the shadows of night time on it. From 10 pm until 12:30 am they had a lighting show on the church that had been going on everyday all summer and this was the last weekend, so the crowd was ...
Strasbourg, Alsace, France shawhansI had planned to visit Strasbourg on three separate dates in the past, all with the same friend. Each time we had to postpone it for one reason or another. Today our plan finally came together. We got in a car with our men and drove out to Strasbourg. My friend is even more organized than me and had everyone download audio guides from Zevisit in our own native language beforehand. Once we got to the city we started our audio tour in ...
Strasbourg, Alsace, France travelingdiva... pitch black near the top, and almost like a forest. It was disorienting walking back, because of the darkness, shadows, and brief glimmers of car headlights. I jumped once, thinking that a dark figure suddenly appeared in front of me, but there was nothing. Then I had the feeling that I was being followed. Later that night as I tried to sleep in the room, I felt as if there was another presence in the room, in addition to the other two people staying ...
Baden-Baden, Baden-Württemberg, Germany pwong... sleepers would hate this place because it is right next to a very loud church...bells right up until around 11pm and start in the morning. Bought a ticket for the Roman baths from the front desk (discount with your hotel room) and went out in search of lunch. Hey, isn't there rule you have to bath on a full stomach but swim on an empty one!? I found this great little place the Löwenbrau, I think you all may have heard of ...
Baden-Baden, Germany koontzfan... good show, and it was nice to see some live music.
Bernard and Michelle (Sandra's aunt and uncle) drove me down to Strasbourg the next day, dropping me off at the hostel and everything. This was where I was asked for the 3rd time if I was quebecoise. Of course, they never think that for long....as soon as they think that they start talking really fast and then I have to ask them to slow down.
Anyway, going to rent a bike now. Caio!
