Galway, Western Ireland, Ireland anoif_away... It was good for the night life, but a bit too many sequins and short dresses on girls who weren't meant to wear short dresses. We did however stay in an awesome hostel that provided laundry and a nice kitchen. We decided to cook a meal together and we made a great pasta that made up for the lack of other activity in Galway.

The next day a few of us returned to Dublin to sketch that area before heading to Scotland ...
Galway, Western Ireland, Ireland koreywhite... the carlsbad caverns, but i guess thats me just being spoiled. Then we went on to the Cliffs of Moher and what a beautiful site! I have to say that we could not have picked a more perfect day! It was a bit cloudy when we first got there but the sun came out quickly and It was absoloutly gorgeous. In Palos Verdes we have alot of cliffs, but they really have nothing on these bad boys. They were absoloutly HUGE! (215 meters high to be exact) It was ...
Burren, County Clare, Ireland tjjoyce... navigated alleyways until we found our hostel, Rowan Tree Hostel. Uber uber nice place. Since exploring a foreign city in the pouring rain wasn’t too appealing, we simply ran to grocery store and bought a typical cheap-travelers dinner of pasta, sauce, and bread. (A treat after days of nothing but peanut butter). It’s awesome how you don’t take meals for granted while you travel…everything suddenly tastes better ...
Ennis, County Clare, Ireland elizabethleland... one teacher who would concentrate on the boys. At one stage there were about 132 boys in one, quite small, classroom. The lady explained how men would wait until they were relatively old, over 40 and sometimes in their 60s to marry. The marriage would be arranged by the fathers. The man's parents would check the family history of the prospective bride (usually in her teens) for lots of sons because it was important to have an heir to pass the farm on ...
Ennis, County Clare, Ireland tomodea... in that direction and none stopped. we barely made it to the bus and bus driver was good enough to wait for us after he saw us running and waving. Finally, we were back in our hostel and went to a local pub for a dinner. There always live music in every pub in Doolin so if you want to hear some Irish folk music come in the evening to the pub and you will see it. The food was pretty good and we met lots of people from different countries. It is a very good ...
Galway, Ireland rakovictYesterday, Doolin did not reveal all her charms till later in the evening. After returning to the hostel from a hearty beef stew dinner at the local pub, I was greeted by a fire in the hearth. The other hostel guests were sitting around reading, talking, and playing board games crammed into the front room. In the midst of this peaceful oasis was an old iron stove embers being stirred by Emily, the hostel worker. The vision was delightful after my brisk evening walk back from dinner ...
Galway, Ireland pshemek... banjo player but the man said they would walk me home because there would be a lot of people on the street. I asked if it was unsafe, because literally I was walking right down the road. The distance was no greater than from my front door to my mailbox and the people outside were all my age and were not threatening at all. But, they walked me to my hostel and even made sure I knew how to get back to Dublin today. There are still nice ...
Ennis, Ireland bethMigraine started. Not feeling well...went on medication and it mostly helped. I got to talk to Arvin on MSN and update this travelogue. Took it easy for the rest of the day. In the evening I went out to Monroe's Pub with Helena (my Swedish roommate), but didn't drink anything besides 7-Up because of the medication. There was folk music, less traditional Celtic than general folk ...
