Walking around the casinos was a truly surreal experience. The insides decked out to look like a Paris street scene or the canals of Venice; the weird light which suggests neither day nor night; the complete absence of any clocks; and girls clad in little but their underwear dancing on the card tables. None of us were gamblers so we quickly made our way through the slot machines and roulette tables to ...
... roller coaster ride. Both were a little giddy when they got off. They rode on some of the other rides which we quite tame in comparison.
The games at the arcade are quite fascinating to watch. There is one where you have to hit a block which sends a chicken flying through the air. If you get the chicken in the pot you win a prize. They also have the coin push games (remember those?) and lots of throw balls and knock things over type ...
... drives I have ever done - the views were amazing and at some parts didn't even look real. We finally hit the bright lights of Vegas - a welcome sign of civilisation after hours of emptiness. Vegas was everything I expected and more! It really is like no where else! People drink and gamble all hours and it's very easy to loose track of time & days - especially in the Venetian where we stayed as they the ceiling is painted to look like blue ...
