Sort of like a homeopathic drive through.

Tomorrow is Saturday, we might take the ferry over to Koh Samet for a day at the beach but I’m not greatly keen on it since it’s so freakin’ hot.

My next job is to figure out how to get to Bangkok and to this International school by 11 am next Tuesday. It will be a crunch.

... hysterical laughter with this much shorter Thai woman letting all her frustrations on tourists out on me. She ran away, yelling farang this farang that… and I, well I just had to laugh.

Arriving on the island, and seeing my mum standing there, was amazing! We are staying at the most amazing place. My bungalow is actually on stilts on the water, and is nothing short of romantic, I can hear the ocean under my bed! And if that wasn’t enough, my mum had snuck in before and ...

How good are Motorbikes!

... as we obnly has them til 3. First stop was another waterfall which was way more impressive than the other 2 put together. It droped a fair distance and had a pool at the bottom which you could swim in. After that we had seen all the main things the leaflet had said we decided to take the scenic route back to see a bit of the island and use up the fuel we had put in the bikes. It was a well good ride with the sea and golden sands on one side and the ...

... me go on my way. I bet they still speak of 'the one that got away'. Then said goodbye to Rich and Zoe, for what will be the last time on the trip. Again, will really miss them. Have met up with them on and off for the past 5 weeks or so, and it'll be almost weird not having them around anymore. Hopefully we can see each other in London when our respective trips are over... Have definitely had more trouble saying goodbye on this trip that on others. When you have ...

Sight seeing Koh Samui

We did the tour of the island in 1 day. A loooong day but it IS possible. Of course, we did not do everything but pretty much saw what we wanted. Highly recommended. The next day, we went diving to Koh Toa. It was OK. We are spoiled little brads ... . Following day: home!!!!!!!!!!! Belgium, here we come.

... that I could probably do this trip on half the money if I knocked the drinking on the head. So yesterday I only had 2 (large) beers...but I did enjoy a lush meal last night. I went wandering and found a place about a mile down the road where I was served crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli and rice. I have a serious pork and rice addiction at the minute. Not good for the waist line. Today I shall most be eating vegetables. After eating I found myself walking along the beach ...

Ko Samui

I wake up leisurely and enjoy a mediocre breakfast with my new Swedish friends. As I´m on my way out to catch the ferry to Samui, I run into Emma and Nicky, AGAIN. We chill on the beach as I wait for a later ferry and finally say goodbyes, until we meet again in Beijing at least. The ferry over lands me in what I can only compare to Cancun. Samui´s beach (Chaweng ...

Next stop - Ko Samet island

... gave it a shot. The gist of it was a journey around Ko Samet, some snorkelling, and visit to a 'fish farm' (yes fish farm is in inverted commas for reasons I shall explain...). Three Thai men and one very young boy were our hosts . One spoke very broken English. The life jackets they said were optional to wear. So we definitely put them on! It was my first time in a speed boat and now I understand how fragile they are on the ocean waters! It was a fun ...

... at my map and figured out how to get to siam square from where I was staying. I had to take the newly made subway to the sky train to get there. This was easy and fun. I went to siam square as Dave said. I got some passport says pictures taken of myself. When applying for a job here you have to send you resume and a current picture. I walked all over siam square trying to get a job . For one thing did not see as many language schools that everyone was talking ...

Christmas Thai Style

... give us the day off, so at eleven in the morning we all piled into a songthow and took off to the beach. We had been bogged down with lesson plans, teaching days, and grammar tests the week before, but somehow we managed to pull off a decent spread. Thanks to my parents, we had a little Christmas tree to take to the beach, along with Secret Santa gifts, roasted ...
