... unreal, sun is fierce and not a breath of wind. Afternoons on the balcony are the order of the day, listening to all the birds shouting at each other and arguing over bread dropped on the floor at the cafe by the lake.
Only downside is having to wait until 7 till the restaurants open. Not easy for two gluttons like us. Had a rubbish meal first night too which is enough to put us in a bad mood for about a week. Italy almost done. ...

This is a simple hotel, with simple rooms, with a simple breakfast, that will do job.
If you want a pool, a breakfast with 3 miles and a runaway to put the car...this is not what you are looking for.

... well laid out for a 4th century BC township, with wide streets and lots of interesting well-maintained old buildings with Roman remnants incorporated, Italianate-style modern buildings and public artworks. Obviously a wealthy town.
We walked along the foreshore to the 120 year old Funicular which transports you up the steep mountain behind the town. Then, still feeling energetic we walked to the top of the mountain, a hard climb of 1.2km straight up.

We weren't catching the train till 4:10pm today. We woke up late had breakfast, got ready and then chilled out in the common room till 3pm.
Finding the train we needed was easy, we hopped on and relaxed for the 45 minute ride.
Soon we were in Como and the owner of the B&B picked us up from the train station. Was so nice for a change, apart from Greece we have had to walk to all our accommodation. Barbara and Gianni are such lovely people, gave us tips of where to ...
... it was time for dinner, and what better than the Yacht Club Como next door to th Aero Club on the waterfront. Sat there for a couple of hours and watched the long twighlight after the Sun dips below the mountain well before sunset.
A great end to a pretty perfect day. Tomorrow Anne arrives via Qantas/Emirates, and we'll spend some time in and around Como before I fly to Marseille next week.
