    ... and inside the shopping mall gave us a good, albeit quick taste of Gothenburg. People were uniformly pleasant, and nearly all the shop clerks spoke English. We only saw two street beggars.

    So far, the weather has been with us. There was a brief bit of rain and lots of big, puffy clouds, but also a lot of sun. But the forecast for here tomorrow, as well as Stockholm and Helsinki later this week is for rain. ...

    One week left, 7 days, 168 hours, 10080 minutes, Yeah I can keep going, but the thing is:
    I'M FINALLY GOING!

    So excited to start this journey, hoping for lots of good memories and new friends along the way!

    I should probably recap the last week(s) as well, since I've done some stuff without bringing it up here in the blog. I've bought a backpack which I'll be using on the mountain, Ortovox Free ride 18L. Kind of a small bag, but I don't expect any longer ...

    Well we're afloat. Not on Celtic Warrior but in rooms in the Hotel Ibis in the centre of Gothenburg which is an old ferry or some such vessel that has been converted. It's a great hotel if you're at all interested and you need inexpensive accommodation in Gothenburg.

    We didn't sleep a wink on the plane ride over. I did, however, make friends with an 80-something year old woman from Mississippi named Juanita.
