    ... br> No one is fat, lots of people are very tall, and the only ethnic diversity appears to be a notable percentage of Muslims.

    Baltimore is now world-famous for its poverty and issues of police brutality, as highlighted on pg 3 then pg 4 of the New York Times International newspaper our first two days here.

    We've seen no evidence of Swedish Massages, nor of any Smorgasboards. But we did go to a restaurant ...

    ... into a major hitch when we got to the Gothenburg airport. The promised Volvo taxi pickup was nowhere to be found. We ended up taking a cab into town (75-80mph all the way). All the cabs are Volvos, so are the buses, and probably most private cars. It’s a real company town.

    Luckily, the hotel had our reservations. It’s a nice, big, modern Radisson Hotel near the city center. We’ll do some exploring ...

    ... sure what I wanted, I figured I'd take something you can adjust on the fly!

    Yesterday I went off and bought myself a pair of new boots, ended up with Burton Ion boots. No particular reason really, they felt good on my feet, a little tight maybe but I'm sure they will adapt with a few days off riding.

    So uh, I seem to be all set for Canada, and man am I excited!

    ... sea and islands are just on the doorstep. It also has thousands of restaurants, all expensive it seems, but we did finally find an Indian one that was reasonable and we had a good, tasty meal for under £20 a head - alcohol was limited to a glass each otherwise it would have been considerably more.

    There will now be a short interlude – at least I hope it’s short. I hope to continue the blog upon our return, which fingers crossed, will be Monday 24th ...

    ... the shopping center in search for a Garmin GPS thing. We found one at the local shopping area called Nordsan Centre, and got it for a decent price. The challenge is asking questions and understanding how to answer them. Oh, and also the credit card machine...you swipe the card but don't know when to hit next, sign, or enter your pin if you need too.
