    ... family: UICTFontTextStyleBody; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal;">We had a couple of lovely days staying up at Kristian and Mentzine's cabin in the mountains near Rjukan ( site of the WWII heavy-water plant sabotage famed in Heroes of Telemark movie) and we hiked across the mountain in about a metre of mostly packed snow (except for when it wasn't and we sank up to the waist in it). Fun!

    ... but the Swedes wave a magic wand over it somehow, and send it back again.
    As is usual, we finished the meal,with a chat and drinks around the outdoor open fireplace on the deck, and topped it off with supper in the beautiful little Finnish bure/gazebo hut in the garden, with, of course, another open fire-place.
    And topped it off with a dip in the hot-jacuzzi , so that when we eventually got to bed, I slept instantly.

    ... reunited with his family in Sweden! So fortunate too that they not only got out safely during the war but also before the wall went up to create East Germany-they would never have got out!!

    It was the dearest little church with one of the oldest known working pipe organs in Sweden-only specialists had the ability to play it. Apparently a musician from Oxford was coming the following week to perform a concert on it! I marvelled yet again at how often ...

    ... rocks, the lichen and the animals in the area until we got to the entrance of the tunnel which had been carved out of the glacier. Inside the glacier it was a warm -2 degrees and a Swedish ice sculpturer had craved out brief symbols of Norwegian folklore in the ice which was interesting to learn about. The Glacier was amazing to be inside of, although we didn't last all that long, despot being dressed and prepared for the occasion and quickly decided it was time to go ...
