Toronto, Ontario, Canada jimcabayWhy is it so difficult to find a place to park in downtown Toronto? Or at least why is it so difficult to find a 'safe' place to park in Toronto. You spend $20 for the privellege of abandoning your car in a street corner dirt covered car park with no security. The ...
Toronto, Ontario, Canada braveliver1314It is 2:44 am and I am ready to go. Too bad I don't leave until 5 am! Phil has not been feeling well, but he doesn't want to miss the Leaf's game on Tuesday, so he is dragging himself along. I even get to pack his suitcase. Then I get to sneak some of my stuff in there! Doesn't he just love that ;) For now I will keep listening to the Cuba Radio Station and dream of my trip to the Marea del Portillo. Oh and the Leaf's game. I can't forget that, as that is how this trip started...

So walked up Younge St - apparently the longest street in the world, which was mostly of it lined with shops. Initially the shops were common and general, but then it slipped into the dodgy looking tacky shops. I walked and walked and walked for ...

Included in the entrance fee is use of the audio guide, which I thought was useful--and you could pick and choose what you wanted to get information about. Casa Loma is actually run now by the Kiwanis Club. It was originally built from 1911-1914 by a wealthy self-made man, Henry Pellatt, and his wife who spared no expense in building it (including a $10,000 bathroom--and those were in the dollars of the day). But eventually they lost ...

Drove through Elliott Lake, the city with the oldest population in Canada. Don't get too close, you might age rapidly and have a sudden urge to place shuffleboard.
