Had a horrible flight on United Airlines as everything had a cost. Went to bathroom during the flight and there was someone in the small room changing his clothes. They didn't lock the door so I tried to enter, eeeeek!!! Fat, hairy man naked!!! I returned to my seat without relieving myself.
I got to see the Amazon river at sunrise and took pictures. We ...
Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil guiser... mentioned that Lopez is a journalist for the Los Angeles Times, it would be possible to forget which city the tale is set in altogether. He wastes no time on sweeping glamour shots of the city – this isn’t about making the characters’ world look pretty, after all. Ayers is homeless in a dangerous urban environment, and the shelter where he spends time is a distinctly unglamorous example of LA’s underbelly. This film isn’t ...
Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil suzlouaSao Paulo is a bit rubbish. That's no huge surprise- even Brazillians of pretty much every other town will tell you that.

Our travelling went okay. Ferry from ilha grande was fine. And then our bus from Angra to SP was over an hour late in arriving. At that point we were very glad we hadn't gone for an overnight bus with tight connection in SP. But we took the opportunity to sample more local pasties- chicken good, meat okay, cheese ...

All we got was the finger! It was time to get the lonely planet out and book a hostel for the night! We were NOT feeling this at all! The plan was now to get to Argentina at half two the following day! The Xanax was doing its warm ups for this epic bus ride!
Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil senorbrian... is much worse. We put all our effort on doing the itineraries the Lonely recomends but all that water and the ugliness of the city made us end up in a cibercafe just wating for the bus to Iguazu. While I was surfing I found the guy I new in Sao Paulo online. He said he was not in town cause he went somewhere ...
Sao Paulo, State of Sao Paulo, Brazil captainflint... traditional 'Gaucho' style ie slow roasted over a fire. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the service which was actually excellent. Not only were the waiters really friendly they were extremely courteous and kept changing our plates and asking us whether we were being served everything we wanted. The service really clinched the deal and once again convinced me that European cultures have a great deal to learn about service in the largely global world of ...

This was originally where the rich coffee barons built their mansions, but very few of them remain, nowadays the road is littered with modern high rise office blocks. It wasn't quite the grand avenue we were expecting but it did give us some idea of how huge the city is - it's 3 times the size of Paris and covers more than 1,500sq km. We stopped at a pavement cafe for a snack and then made plans to get to the airport for our flight to the Iguazu Falls.
Sao Paulo, Brazil rechmachado... shopping, and took a cab into the old city center. It took some courage as I really felt a bit intimidated. Many people wanted something from me but I just ignored them and kept on walking as if I knew where I was going. It also helped that I spoke the language. After seeing the highlights in the center I had dinner in a shopping mall and went back to the hotel where I relaxed after a tiring day. The next day I was already to depart to my next destination: Buenos Aires!
