This trip fell together over a few laminated-map-and-dry-erase-marker sessions on our living room floor. It literally fell together, with very little discussion, no argument and much shared excitement. Now that we're only a few days from go-time, and all the details are nailed down, Michael and I may very ...

Time has almost come to board our plane. It's been a very long morning. We are ready to get this adventure underway! Dream come true! A third week with our kiddos makes this trip ...

The drive was pretty eventful today. Mom drove for the first part, and we went to Lake Michigan. It was beautiful! It looked just like the ocean! Then, we drove on, and used Siri to find some antique stores. ...

... exactly half of all the US States. Even without Mexico thrown in, that is a hell of a trip!
We had to say, these 'lake folk' of Indiana and Michigan know how to do a 'lake town', there were lots of 'cottagy' type restaurants and stores, though many weren't open for the season yet. There were also big sand dunes, and beaches, high vistas and even a nuclear plant thrown in, just to get us back to that old Lake Huron feeling! We split the beach at ...
