Route 66
Left Flagstaff and followed Route 66 to Albuquerque. Stopped at a town called Gallup, the Navajo and Zuni peoples major trading centre. If u wanted to buy the beautiful turquoise jewellery this was the place. We were a little worried about getting out and walking the main street. Dune surfing, petroglyphs, lava flows, missiles
... the beaten path. Food was delicious and Conner was thrilled to finally be asked the most important questions: do you want red or green with that? The red and green chiles were clearly home made and delicious. The kids loved the sopaipillas. My margarita with Herradura silver tequila and enchildadas full of carne adovada (spicy pulled pork) were to die for!
Tomorrow we are headed to Flagstaff, Arizona, one state closer to California!

... did a couple of errands, and then met Mike and Jenny for a trip to the New Mexico State Fair.
The Fair was a lot of fun! We continued our gastronomic adventure by experiencing green chilies over and over again: via hamburgers, Navaho tacos, and even pie (ok, well, I backed out on the green chile pie). ... to get two wolf whistles, four beeps of the horn and a crazy black guy shouting stuff to me. We then went back to the house and got changed to go out partying. They were doing shots of whiskey which were not for me, Claire not one to go without a shot got involved. It turned out it was lucky I hadn’t had anything as we had to drive to the bar.
