... front location. We spend the morning settling in and checking out the tourist information brochures to plan our next 3 days. Seems there is not much to see around Fingal except a volcano formed giant rock causeway with hexagonal columns. We will explore that tomorrow. We spent the afternoon on the bicycles exploring the beaches, shops and pubs where we join the locals to wash the dust from the throat. Back to camp for an early sundowner while watching the ocean and feeding ...

... had a drink with Annette and Linda from NZ and Brentt Jones from Norfolk Island.

Dinner was at a local Italian restaurant with Bob Snow , Matt Mahon, Margaret and Phil Jones from Athletics Australia. It was a pleasant meal with plenty of food and stimulating conversation.

The most important part of this section of the trip is the renewing of friendships and catching up with people we haven't seen for at least six months. Tonight was an excellent start.

Just around the corner at the Snapper Rocks end of Rainbow Beach, if you catch the right wave and you're good enough, you can ride for half a kilometre round the headland.
